And Yet….by Carl Gooch

And Yet

In the days of my many trials:

I give thanks to you, my Lord.

Though I deserved your wrath,

You came and strengthened me.

In the midst of my suffering

I did not feel your presence.

But you were faithful to me,

You sustained me in my need.

Fear and doubt was with me,

In the dark of my desperation.

I felt abandoned and alone,

Yet your Spirit urged me on.

And yet…….

As I look back at my lowest

I see God was at the closest.

I don’t have to feel to know;

I don’t have to see to believe.

I am in Him and He is in me.
