He Brought Heaven to Me

Politically Poetic

He asked me if I had a religion,
He asked me about my faith.
Now, I know he was on a mission
He said he was lost in my beauty and grace.
He said that love was his religion
He announced his allegiance to me.
He asked me if I would join his legion,
He would bring heaven to me.
As he ever gently held my hands,
The 10 Commandments amended.
I had no idea how sacred it was
Seeds of a new faith were deeply implanted.

I realized the power he had
Promised heaven he brought to my land
Kneeling and praying for heaven once more
I bow before his altar forevermore.
