Recipe : Extra Crispy Spicy Fried Fish

This is such an easy recipe. I won’t be giving you a big list of ingredients to grind and make some fancy masala. It’s easy yet so delicious. You can use this blend to fry any fish. Yes, just about any fish. Just take pieces of fish of your choice. Here I have used Seer Fish, known as Surmai on the Western coast. It is the preferred fish along the Tamil Nadu coastline. It has a firm texture with just a centre bone and a few bones near the gut area and along the tip of the tail. It’s as good as a boneless fish. Wash it well. Marinate with the following:

  • Salt to taste
  • 1.5 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp dry mango powder
