
Have you ever felt alone or wondered who would care for you in your old age? Has it seemed that when your children grew up and moved across the country, you were left to fend for yourself with no one to care for your soul? Although in this passage Isaiah is speaking to Godβs people remaining in Israel after many were carried into captivity, this promise has great application for us today.
In this dark time, God wanted His people to know His promise so they would have hope for the years ahead. In verse three, the people, and we. too are encourage to remember Godβs past faithfulness. So as you reread this passage, consider: What has the Lord done for me? What evidence do I see of His care in my early life? How did He draw me into relationship, our of darkness into His light?
