Oh give me a home

Where the minstrels roam

And trains are filling each car…

Where coal smoke is fine

Up and down the line

And you’re glad for where you are!

Home, Home on the train,

Whether diesel or steam the same…

Electric, too, painted red white and blue

And America isn’t disdained!

A mythical griffin is true

To its nature blue…

Made of rock–

Sturdy stock=–

It never  no never boo-hoos!

Unlike the “comedienne,

Who’s turned herself into “victim”…

Self responsibility

Is unconscionably,

Denied by her or him!

Now a lawyer she seeks,

Someone else must pay her lost “ekes”

She did the act–

No one “made her”, in fact–

Most of us see through her pitiful squeaks!

It’s time for this child to grow up,

As one wag said–MAN UP!…

You’ve gone too far

With behavior bizarre,

With morals you’ve proven corrupt.

(An opinion post! )

Not quite like peepers at night,

Railroad critters have their own light…

G.E.’s tend to whine

On their owner’s dime,

With short cuts of cars they fight!

The twenty-five tonner “dinky”

Exhaust tends toward stinky…

Smoke in the eyes

Is no surprise,

At times blue smoke turns inky!

When old, oft put on display,

Costs more to scrap anyway…

Does its job

With no hobnob,

From the big trains’ right of way!

The Lord God is kind,

Teaching us when we are blind…

A blind man saw

The Sad-u-see’s flaw,

When they were so unkind!

A blind person ’round their home,

Navigate if you leave stuff alone…

In mind’s eye

They know what’s nearby,

When they live alone!

Praise God for spiritual kindness,

Sometimes the better is blindness….

To see sin fruit

Not being astute,

Asking in other-mindness.

The Pharisees said “we see!”

Compounding iniquity…

Hypocrites all

Under the Fall,

Showing stupidity!

Looking at those who passed by,

His room near a diverging wye…

Female nurses are

His faves by far,

But accepts care from a guy!

He tried not to stare,

Bouncing here and there…

He’s less hot

In running thought,

Less apology to prepare!

His nurse team was superb,

Although one said not a word….

I broke the ice

Then she was nice,

First week in E.R., I heard!

The few times he glanced in PLAYBOY,

He never found any joy…

Even a clothes horse

Smiles unforced,

The clothes look better, oh boy!

Models adopt  faces grim,

Neutral–don’t encourage him…

Or style of these clothes

They turned up their nose,

Just a designer’s whim.

He gets few smiles at home,

Both bear pain and then some…

Working or blogging

Smiles he’s logging,

His memory smiles have grown!

–Jonathan Caswell

Silly girl passes each day,

Glad she is to get away…

Always laughs

As she flows past,

Happy it’s the end of her day.

Sometimes expresses doubt,

That she’d  make it out…

Is she stressed–

Can’t tell I guess–

Can’t figure this one out!

If she’s happy then I’m

Ready to smile every time…

Most get

Smiling on exit,

The end of the day—they’re fine!

–Jonathan Caswell

Excuse his expression here,

He needed to ask his way clear…

Computer reboot

Killed his repute,

The boss wasn’t happy, but cared!

Lisa redid shutdown,

It hadn’t completely been done…

A hiccup or two,

We got through,

No help of mine—victory won!

–Jonathan Caswell

Provided at great expense,

Sanitizer (at) each entrance…

Hand sanitizing

Leaves surviving,

Bugs not so easily dispensed!

(Each themed 3-lined haiku is a poem in itself)

Hoot owl forest call

Softly heard on a work night

First time this season

Late night return home

Keeps the car interior cool

From jumping guide rails

Highway hawks on perch

Snow hides squeaking a la cart

Slim pickings in road kill

His practice at night

To listen for the night sounds

Has enriched for years

See your own vapor

Steam from the depths of our souls

Remembering time
