A GOAL TO AIM FOR…!

This NEW HAVEN RS-3

Is weathered beautifully…

Oil and smoke

It’s colors evoke,

The fact that it’s real you can see!

Weathering of a model

To look like much time on its throttle…

Takes stain and dusting

And  tradition-busting,

To produce seepage mottled!

Don’t if I can in N scale,

The worst I can do is fail…

Will  give it a try

And magnify,

A hard-working loco on rails!

DESIGN CONUNDRUM

Ran into a tiny snag,

Or a way out of a paper bag…

Double track or twice -around

Both plans sound,

On either I could brag.

The old two by four feet pike,

Had a twice around I liked…

An oval outside

For long cars to ride,

As a display, it was nice.

Essentially not micros,

Normal  radius grows…

Longer train cars

Don’t overhang as far,

More space makes sense, I suppose!

But a “pizza” is a display round-and-round,

Small trains in circles are bound…

Simple-to-complex

One way to relax,

I hope I can “nail one down”!

DECEMBER 19, 2016—IN INFAMY?

On December nineteenth,

Invaders showed up with teeth…

P&W’s paint

Will soon grow faint,

Till orange and black is complete!

IF I WERE A PAINTER RENOWNED

If I were a painter renowned

I’d follow you all over town…

Sketching your lines

Offering times

When you and I should sit down.

I’d offer a generous contract,

Half of the proceeds get back…

I may sound flighty

But you are Aphrodite,

Please answer in the positive track!

I’d paint you all sorts of ways,

Critics will sing your praise…

If only allow

A portrait now,

But I’d paint you the rest of my days!

NEW BIRCH BEGINNINGS

NEW BIRCH BEGINNINGS

Only God can make a tree,

Been years since painting one for me…

A cancellation

Brought participation,

A class for the elderly!

My worry was shaking hands,

Picture painting has  certain demands…

Lucky for me

A birch tree,

And its wiggly trunk still stands!

The instructor put a cardinal in mine,

On a snow-cover branch so fine…

And “fly specks” too

Of snow that flew,

We pictured it at wintertime.

PAINTING PARTY!

PAINTING PARTY!

(Tune of THE YELLOW ROSE OF TEXAS)

Residents have a painting party

Half-an-hour from right now,

The room is sheathed in plastic–

Will the painters take a bow…

Copying one picture

In acrykic color paint,

Billed as fun for everyone

But Rembrandt it ain’t.

We are grasteful to the folks that

Brought this lady in,

At the risk of leaving carpet stains

Fun causes quite a din…

As for the Poet

His hands often shake,

It’s been a while since he’s tried

A straight line to make!

Like Joni Erickson-Tada,

I could paint with my teeth,

Don’t like the taste of brushes

But my choke reflex is brief…

I think I’ll stay with painting words

On the screens of reader’s minds,

And if I make a typo

I’ll catch it …in time!

And if I make a few typos…

I’ll catch them…in time!
