JUST LIKE ITS REAL-LIFE PROTOTYPE

I’d bought a 2-8-0 steamer,

“Consolidation-type” in N scale…

I had one train circle running

And delightedly put this engine on rails!

This BOSTON AND MAINE “2-8-0”

It didn’t travel far…

Before the engine stubbed its toe

And the front wheels went ajar.

My careful but quickly laid track

Was not perfectly smooth….

And like it’s prototype,

The engine wheels hit a cross-groove!

Rough track is anathema

To models with light pilot wheels…

Even the real ones suffered

From extra tight curve squeals!

THOUGHT IT WAS MONDAY…!

Worked a Saturday shift,

Got mixed up in time just a bit…

Woke up confused–

Had I over snoozed,

Had I missed a doctor’s appointment?

Went out to our living room,

TV preachers, near noon…?

Missed church–

Left them in the lurch,

They’ll have to lead their own hymn tunes!

SUNDAY–we praise our LORD–

At church or home He’s adored…

But we confused

Miss out on Good News,

Assembling to hear God’s word!

A REAL SHOCK I AM?

Finding a nearly-sixty-year-old,

Fashion poet leaves some rather cold…

A shock to see

The  elderly,

Actively trends they behold!

He sin’t always a saint,

But postive pictures he’ll paint…

Good exposure and pride

Knowing someone’s on their side,

Hoping his maleness isn’t a taint!

Again he must balance his views,

Determined to spread good news…

His challenge is to write

Poetic fashion insight,

Though alas, bias for certain styles–skews!

A fan of the button-up blouse,

It’s clean lines he’ll endorse…

Other styles

He compiles,

To show what they are, of course!

A NOTE ABOUT THIS CRAZY (?) BLOG:

(In poetic form, of course!)

Many folks apparently,

Like this poetry…

But far and away

They come for the array

Of posts re-blogged by me!

I’m sorry–the fault is mine,

For so was I inclined…

Toward building a base

Of readers at a pace,

Shown to work over time.

A vast majority say

The reblogs are why they stay…

Or at least I infer

That from comments heard,

My poetry–well, it’s okay!

There are–how many?–a “few’,

Who look for my limericks too…

Separation doesn’t work–

My ego got jerked–

The experiment was through!

A ratio of four-to-one,

Or higher to which it has come…

Sometimes I regret

My impatience, yet,

It still is a lot of fun!

TO ALL BELIEVERS OF ANY FAITH

It sounds controversial

For  a Christian to appeal…

To believers of all other gods

To lend their aid and deal…

With the human suffering

Of two major hurricanes

Families of many faiths

Enduring loss and pain!

Even if you have no god,

Please  think good thoughts to heal…

It’ll be a long time  till many folks

Return to an even keel;

This is what my Dad might have done

In his liberal theology…

Reaching out to all concerned

With no apology!

I’ m thinking of a special friend,

A blogger fresh and true…

Known as Holly Hunter

And other Floridians, too;

Her “House of Heart” is quiet till

She survives the storm….

I repeat my concern

For her a colleagues’ love is warm!

To our knees, lotus positions, or however you access the divine—for the sake all storm victims!

A LOT OF SCAMS OUT THERE!

Beware of all those scams,

And gods who claim they’re “I AM’s”…

Saying the bible

Isn’t so vital,

And all Christian service pans!

If one SAYS one is Christian but not,

One is liable for judgment “hot”…

Deceiving Man

Is the Devil’s plan,

Are you a part of his plot?

Other religions taking our cues,

Decide to help–that’s news!

The wrongs they claim

Are often their main

Modus operandi, too!

Rather than putting us down,

Rather help all work strong…

Bitter exchange

Is beyond the range,

Of charity work and is wrong!

Based upon observing the posts currently available in the Reader, and the author’s own sense of decency toward relief efforts (the way they should be !).  An Opinion Post.

WORSHIP EQUALS LOVE EXPRESSED!

(Ideas came from this morning’s broadcast of THE BLESSED LIFE, with Robert Morris, on DAYSTAR TV)

Worship is love expressed,

It’s said women do it best…

But as men

We act on it then,

Not as verbal as one might suggest!

We serve in our own way,

Demonstrative in quiet ways…

The Lord Most High

Was once a guy,

He was practical in His praise.

We men have to cut loose

A little, being humble in use…

In praise and prayer

Leading families there,

Raising hands and praising God–no excuse!

HEBREWS 1 and 2:

To whom did the Father say, “Son.”

You are my Holy One…

Sent to earth

For human birth,

Announcing salvation has come?

Even in Moses’ time,

clues to this royal line…

Were there to see–

Everybody–

That to the search was inclined.

“Little less than the angels” Jesus,

Came as one of us…

Fulfilling Law–

Only He went that far–

Proving Father God as just.

Who are we to complain,

When  like Christ we endue pain…

Them who died

Totally denied

God though they saw His flame!

Will we believers

Be like those deceivers…

Having the form

But hearts not warmed,

By our holy Redeemer?

Escaping a righteous God,

Without Gospel shoes shod…

Were there snakes

Would we embrace

His comforting chastening rod?

Look to Him on the tree,

Bruised and suffered for thee…

Worship the King

By being,

Known as living the Same!

GOD HOUSE, OH GOD HOUSE!*

Little stone pagodas,

In some garden corners…

Garden protection

By spirit direction.

Not wanting any reformers!

For those who believe,

These little houses conceived…

To spirits open

Gardeners hoping,

Blessing s are on the way!

For Christians, this garden art,

Tempts those who escaped  this part…

Of pagan belief

It is no relief,

Knowing spirits here park!

Some claim these are ornamental,

And we shouldn’t be judgmental…

If one has escaped

Being spirit chased,

Getting rid of these is fundamental!

When I see these—will they be removed?

No–each one chooses spirit truth…

We can pray

You’ll toss them away,

But it is your choice and your roof!

–Jonathan Caswell

*Please note that the subject of this poem is the author’s own opinion—no guarantees that either the provider of the illustration or anyone else believes as I do.  My friends have their own opinions and beliefs. Not everyone may be aware of what these cute stone pagodas represent, which I feel I should point out–then leave the deciding up to each person to decide for themselves!–Jonathan E. CLOTHES DON’T MAKE WHAT YOU ARE!—TERRI SAVELLE-FOY

(Ideas from a Terri Savelle-Foy Ministries TV broadcast on DAYSTAR…7/13/17)

Terri Savelle-Foy,

Wants women to employ…

Logic to see

Identity,

Not based on clothes or a boy!

Clothes and how one dresses,

Point to inner stresses…

How do you feel

About yourself is real,

And about dressing neat or as messes!

God loves His children so ,

Most don’t realize it’s so…

Self identity

Developed poorly,

In their dressing will show.
