WELLING UP TO OVERFLOWING

Samaritan woman’s thirst

For something so she won’t burst…

Came to this well

And heard Jesus tell,

To put Him first.

Thirsty beyond mere water,

She was a human daughter…

Caught in her lies–

Opened her eyes–

To see living water!

The Lord didn’t put her down,

As she went through her town…

Calling to tell

All of that Well,

Who would stick around!

BIBLE REFERENCE:  John 4: 7- 31.

GOT HIS MEDICINE

One may think the man is fruity,

He needed a good dose of beauty…

Typical male

Where sight prevails,

Socialization and cutie!

Talking with her pleasantly,

Important in remedy…

Of his despair

Her being there,

Totally missed her last time, you see!

Knows to not make waves,

But her friendliness him saves…

Someone to view

And nice to talk to,

When he emerges from caves!

NEW YEAR’S GREETINGS!

Cities have their  “First Night”

A multi-culture delight…

Oft fireworks

Are among the perks,

In all a beautiful sight!

The wife and I will be home,

Like Christmas, pretty much alone…

Community dinner

Will warm our winter,

TV programs mostly for the young!

On Cable we’ll find a movie,

Or go to bed early (so groovy!)…

A time slot we’ve made

For the Rose Bowl Parade,

After that, we’re not as choosy!

Praise God for another year,

To grow in the Spirit to hear…

His inner voice

And making the choice

To grow closer to Him so dear!

LIQUID SATISFACTION

Strolling down the long hall.

For five espressos, that’s all…

Creamer perhaps

Preventing naps,

It hurts–that office chair fall!

Chocolate espresso looked weak,

No color of which to speak…

The normal stuff

Was dark brown enough,

To bring blushes to the cheek.

Walking back down the hall,

Carefully didn’t spill at all…

There’s medical need

For caffeine indeed,

That coffee machine doth call!

DECEMBER 19, 2016—IN INFAMY?

On December nineteenth,

Invaders showed up with teeth…

P&W’s paint

Will soon grow faint,

Till orange and black is complete!

WHAT DID THE COVERED BRIDGE SAY TO THE SNOW PLOW?

The covered bridge creaked when it saw,

How big the plow was, in awe…

“Don’t cross here

“It’ll cost us dear,

The river will swallow us all!”

HARDLY SNOW-BOUND

All that heavy metal,

Snow tests its mettle…

If no snow plow

Run through anyhow,

Even small engines are not little!
