“LAZIER LAOS LECTURING”

(AN OPINION PIECE)

Obama lectures and moans

Over problems he, himself, owns…

His unending fame

Is to others blame,

Not caring who dies in their homes.

A fool acting crazy

Who can’t control squat calls lazy…

Folks who know

How things ought to go,

But won’t follow him—amazing!

In Laos we’re hardly loved,

Embarrassing is how he’s governed…

If so far away

Do we not hear what he’ll say?

A childish prank of the ungoverned!

J.E.C.

(whose opinion is his own!)

FABRIC OF LIFE

First God-given fabric was skins,

Possibly lamb once within…

Fig leave basting

Not long-lasting,

The first sacrifice for sin.

Regular sacrifice

Became part of ancient life…

Covering sin

Lodged deep within,

For God couldn’t look upon vice!

Someday–Genesis 3: 16–

God ultimately intervenes…

God and man

Yet one, by plan,

Would satisfy the gap in-between.

That man is Jesus Christ,

Yeshua…Messiah ( in the Greek means  Christ)…

Mosaic Law–

He fulfilled it all,

With a perfect life and sacrifice.

His death and resurrection,

Was the ultimate connection…

Between God’s creation

And Himself—the nations–

Can CHOOSE their course correction!

How does God and man

Reconcile–the Bible shows we can…

God wooing us back

To being His with no lack,

Have faith in Christ–both God and man.

IS IT ENOUGH FOR NOW?

Returning up from the dregs

Of wonder between the legs…

Righteously

The Spirit sees

This one taken down a peg.

From bingeing not on food

But absorption of .the lewd…

Your Word within

Like soap to  the skin,

A cleansing interlude!

VISITING ISRAEL

AN OPINION POST!

Emperor Constantine’s

Mother mapped out pilgrim schemes…

Based on local say

History in play,

So physical evidence teems!

Visit the Land of the Bible,

Of which Muslim clerics think libel….

Tearing down sites

To which they’ve no rights,

We depend of FAITH and its survival!

Come before more’d destroyed,

But Israeli people are buoyed…

By concepts giving

Freedom for living,

Not something with which to be toyed.

Christians and Jews abroad,

Are appropriately awed…

Peoples of the Book

Come to Israel and look,

At the good provision of their God.

WHAT’S THIS WITH THE SINGULAR?

Reading a devotional tome,

Which again brought me back home…

To complain

Why disdain

On letting God’s Spirit roam?

I mean, in assignment or gift,

Pastors and teachers “lift”…

Opportunity

In the Spirit be free,

To be for many people His gift.

God’s word says all receive,

Especially those who believe…

Holy Spirit gifts

To each He sifts,

As needed, God’s will to achieve.*

It doesn’t say only one,

Gift gets everything done…

Hence the mission

Isn’t just one commission,

Be available whatever is done!

Who are we to limit God,**

King David would think that odd…

He was many things

In his life several strings

All at the same time were trod!

You yourselves know this truth,

Many things must be handled in youth…

One gets dizzy

At all angles busied,

But God works in all…forsooth!***

You know why gifts sought just one,

It’s less about what’s done…

One primary label

Assures folks are able,

To feel they are someone.****

*Read…in the Holy Bible…First Corinthians Chapter 12: verses 10 and 11.

**Ephesians 2:7…the limitless of God in Jesus Christ.

***See…The gospel of John 14: 26…and The Letter to the Colossians 1: 20….and Paul’s Letter to the Romans 8: 27-29.

****NOTE: The author’s personal opinion.

WHAT SORROW…CLEARING OF YOURSELVES!

(Read 2nd Corinthians 7: 11)

An Adult Subject Poem

A Christian feels sad,

Realizing more than a tad…

He’d gone overboard

Behaving untoward,

Mourning ’cause he’d been had!

In his personal sin

He’d let the enemy sneak in…

In certain ways

Our minds play,

Corrupting the soul within.

Certain things lure fantasy,

Enticing our own fancy…

Pictures and prose

Hooks one’s nose,

And mind in a trance, tragically!

Avoiding it all is best,

But if  Evil builds a nest…

The penalty for sin

Christ did in,

Repent now and enter His rest!

–Jonathan Caswell

A DEJECTED SIGH…!

Lets go a dejected sigh,

Asks himself just WHY…

Zipped lips

Managed to trip,

Agog with what met the eye!

His woman friend looked just right,

Leaving for the night…

Forbidden from saying–

On the edge playing,

His tongue flapped at her very sight.

His orders to leave all alone,

By his bosses was driven home…

When the lip slip came

He did feel shame,

And fear of being canned was strong!

NEARLY TIME FOR TAPS…

(One Poet’s Opinion)

American stars and stripes,

Wave in fading light…

Spotlights glow

So we know,

Out flag is doing alright.

As for the country we cringe,

What is the next freedom impinged…

Ignored laws unliked,

Disapproval spiked,

The Administration acts unhinged.

And our leader of the free world,

Hates the country where he’s raising his girls…

They’ve openly proved

Suffering leaves them unmoved,

Unless there’s a news crew to twirl.

The “Change” is here,

Reaching for freedoms held dear…

Does what he likes–

Avoids open mikes–

Eventually his plan was made clear.

The ultimate patriotic sin

Is to tear us down from within…

Conquer-divide

While goodies are eyed,

The rest of us thrown in a bin.

The problem is, both sides

Seem to have similar prides…

Quietly taking

From upside-down shaking,

While laws are broken–each abides.

Who will call this to task,

Doesn’t seem to be any to ask…

Will any act

Or all are in fact

Willing to put we voters dead last?

NODDING OFF IN MORNING BIBLE STUDY

The nodding that was seen,

Not really a form of agreeing…

Although I did

Grogginess fed,

Need for a nap of meaning!

–Jonathan Caswell

IS GOD NOT IN THIS CHURCH, TOO?

A natural temptation to leave,

For something one hasn’t received…

Di I ask

Help in the task,

Convinced I believe?

Received Spiritual books

In which he hasn’t looked…

Resource is there

But does he care,

To put his own effort to look?

My small ministry,

If I leave…where will they be…

Pastor leads hymns

But hoarseness then wins,

Sermonizing difficultly.

One less  person to pray,

For troubles along life’s way…

Why should they lose

Because I chose,

To go away?
