WHERE YOUR SPIRIT FEEDS

Not going to church leaves an ache,

Only so much milk I can take…

Meat to chew–

Thoughtfully, too–

I haven’t grown on cake!

A few programs I’d guess

Do promote holiness…

Worshiping with your own

Is hard from home,

Symptoms of loneliness.

I fit easily in a slot–

Without my friends I’m caught–

Needlessly

Thinking of “me”,

Braving the Accuser’s onslaught.

JESUS WEEPS.

JESUS WEEPS…!

(An opinion piece)

For all the children eaten,

For all His people beaten…

At least they’ll see

Eternity

Away from life so fleeting.

Those who sit by,

Should hear the tortured cry…

Of a god and his raiders,

Hateful invaders,

Who make victims want to die!

“Progressives” who don’t care a whit,

Yawn saying “get on with it”…

So we can win

Not looking at sin,

“That doesn’t bother us one bit.”

They call themselves upright,

But that won’t wash tonight…

Jesus weeps

While a ruler keeps

His vacation schedule tight.

FAR MORE THAN DECORATION

FAR MORE THAN DECORATION

Mention the woman’s name “Holly”

And folks think about Christmas jolly…

Singing DECK THE HALLS

While a snow drift calls,

In a Christmas culturally “poly”.

She wanted to go away,

Then decided to stay…

Our Holly found

Without her around,

A lot of folks felt dismay!

Her writing’s a treasure trove

Fashioned in creative love…

Greeting each guest

She does the best,

And really has nothing to prove!

Last of all–to put up with me–

Requires  to the Nth degree…

Kindness unbounded

From a guy who’s hounded

His share toward insanity!

Love her romancing her–no–

But I love the rest of her so…

If I was available

She’d be assailable,

Why a guy hasn’t–I don’t know.

I fervently wish she can–

If she wants–to find a good man…

Whatever she needs

With my Father I plead,

That she may not leave us again.

Some day, of course, many will,

When blogging won’t pay bills…

Or another medium

Makes better comedians,

Then will our blog go still.

IS HE SMILING AT HER?

IS HE SMILING AT HER?

Diana’s cat,–in tuxedo–poses in full flash,

Apparently happy being caught…

With her pearls around his neck worn with panache

Like a ruffled Dickey we had bought.

Pearls he had played with when Missy put on him

The doubled string at which he was surprised…

If it had been Master who had thus adorned him so,

String of pearls might have vaporized!

He was Missy’s Cat, spending whole days with her,

While Master worked keeping home fires burning…

Her little friend named “Tippie” sat on her lap and purred

We had a cat who was very discerning!

Diana found the picture–Tippie Cat’s been gone

Two or more years under sod…

Buried him on the edge of land that we used to own,

In woods where he often loved to tread.

She has “enough” pictures of this our last cat,

Health needs prevent getting another…

Reminding of his healthy years, our love and all of that–

We’re not likely to adopt another!

STUDENT NURSE–FINE EXAMPLE

STUDENT NURSE–FINE EXAMPLE

Cute and efficient Leah,

Sat at a desk–we could see her…

Young spritely body

With service not  shoddy,

She’s who we both would definitely prefer!

CHRISTMAS-TIDE HAIKU

CHRISTMAS-TIDE HAIKU

Christmas-tide begins,

Preparing for end of year…

Don’t leave Him “mangered!”

The Christ child grew up,

Would His parents understand?

He raised His siblings.

January sixth,

The Orthodox celebrate…

Jesus is Timeless!

PREPARE FOR BLAST-OFF!

PREPARE FOR BLAST-OFF!

(Sugar Shock)

Christmas is coming,

The sweets are flooding in,

Won’t you put in an order for

Extra insulin?

If you don’t have a plan set,

Moderation will do…

If you can’t be controlled then

GOD BLESS YOU!

AND SUDDENLY SHE’S GONE!

AND SUDDENLY SHE’S GONE!

(To all the Lady bloggers who change format, leave Word Press or don’t come around anymore…after I’ve grown to love, admire and need them!)

(With sorrowful cries to  one in particular!)

Another woman draws apart,

Taking a portion of heart…

I know it’s not fair

To keep her here,

But her leaving does smart!

I’m hardly more than sideshow

Of the hundreds of people to know…

My growing attached

Suddenly despatched,

Leaves this blog host feeling low

I hold no right to any,

But tied in friendship to many…

As much as is

For a poet like me,

Who longs for sisters and Mammy!

So go off–you’ll be fine.

I’ll get off this jag of mine…

People collecting

We should be rejecting,

But for losing you, I pine.

BIRCH TREE PAINTING PARTY

BIRCH TREE PAINTING PARTY!

It is a marvel Monday

The painting party’s soon,

Tables are plastic-covered

In our Common Room…

I almost wish I had signed up

For curiosity

If I can type out this blog

Then could I paint a tree?

PORTIONING CONTORTIONING?

PORTIONING CONTORTIONING?-

Relearning my food serving size.

Reducing the “big-ness” of eyes…

Once I overload

The other end slowed,

No need to complete this reprise!

Quartering  his big double portions

Requiring diet “forcing”…

Digging in heels

The mind starts to yield,

While blood sugar in him is coursing.

Being full faster is a break,

Setting limits on what one  can take…

Leaving stuff on the plate

A healthier trait,

Giving you in your health a new stake.
