STRANGER THINGS…

Stranger outcomes happen,

When opportunity’s tapping,

Wanting in

And you begin

Writing ideas you’re trapping!

He’s written ’bout Christ and trains–

Weather seems worth one’s pains….

Fashion poems are new

As something to do,

And the challenge takes working brains!

I’d say it is channeling energy,

Most of which has left me….

Shapes and sizes

And stylish surmises,

Still need a bard’s entrée.

“An eye for the women.” one said,

Focusing on their clothes instead..

“Clothes make the man”

And women, and can

Leave little more to be said!

YET–a poet describes,

Details that emanate vibes…

Along a track

That likes feedback,

Both positive and wise!

SPRING WEATHER IN FEBRUARY?

SPRING WEATHER IN FEBRUARY?

( as several haiku )

Warmer nights ’round here,

Record temperatures on tap…

Ski area’s loss!

No coat–no worries!

Winter’s abated (nice breeze!)…

NEXT WEEK…we will freeze!

Are plants fooled this time,

What keeps tree buds all in line?

Cold snaps kill flowers!

Weird weather we see,

What February snowfall?

Will springtime be cold?

HOLY HOPING HAIKU

HOLY HOPING HAIKU

King of kings coming,

The Christian God in hist’ry…

Coming once again!

Love came down to men,

They crucified God;s one Son…

Forgive them, He said!

Learning to live Christ

Kill off self and take on Christ,

God grows within you!

Take on holy Christ,

Be clothed in His righteousness…

The Father sees Christ!

Believe and be saved

From sin’s dark evil spirits…

Walk on in God’s light!

He stands at your door,

He’s knocking on your heart now…

Let Him in and live!

Own up to your sin,

Sin is bad–agree with Him…

Repent and find God!

Going through motions,

Without your soul, is worth nil…

Give soul, mind, body!

COMING UP FROM THE BASEMENT HAIKU

COMING UP FROM THE BASEMENT HAIKU

Seeing sunset rare,

Coming up from the basement…

Sharing winter’s end!

-J.E.C.*

Controlled space below,

Submerged four months a time:

Sudden freedom shouts!

–J.E.C.*

Even weeds look good,

Plow-shattered lawn scapes are bare:

Recovered grounds thrive!

–J.E.C.*

Aerials invade,

Territorial bird songs:

We call romantic!

–J.E.C.*

Even old codgers…

Eyes twinkle brightly at sights!

Yes, old men–seeing.

* J.E.C. is short (an abreviation) for the author’s name and middle initial.

ANXIOUS HAIKU

ANXIOUS HAIKU

Rain freezes tonight,

Driving a hassle mornings…

Sugaring weather.

Papers stuck in mail,

Unemployment management…

Food pantry feeding.

Empty cistern art,

Nothing left to draw upon…

Well needs refilling!
