MAY STILL DO THIS…

MAY STILL DO THIS…

(A few Haiku)

Nearly five AM,

Writing off sleeplessness fine…

Wife wonders…where now?

–J.E.C.

Broke a bunny’s ear,

Other people’s stuff–oh dear!

Need GORILLA GLUE.

–J.E.C.

Saw a new haiku,

“Five” for the first two…

Seven syllables the end.

–J.E.C.

Robins stalk bare ground,

Springtime hope increases…

Snow just keeps coming!  😦

HAIKU D’ART

HAIKU D’ART

(Haikus about art)

Acrylics copied

Instruction bringing out joy

Frolicking two hours

One man in the lot,

Estrogen power at work…

Laughter contagion!

Plastic on tables,

Colors put on art canvas…

Smocks and aprons clean!

Many volunteers,

Short work–room restoration–

Lights out at day’s end

VISIT TO THE DOCTOR

VISIT TO THE DOCTOR

(in the form of haiku—more than one)

Surgeon saw my foot,

No runs…no holes…no errors…

Can shovel snow soon!

Snow and sleet descend,

Fear reawakened to drive…

Plow trucks out in force.

Agreeable nurses,

Meeting lots of nice faces…

Doctor says…now stop.

Own car must be cleaned,

Returning as wife’s chauffeur

No more: friend, will you?

Health insurance fades,

Peddling faster daily:

Discontinuous service.

Author hands out tomes

Company and smiles exchanged…

One was sold last year.

Nervousness returns,

Cookie binges resulting…

Blood sugar testing!

Gonna miss “his” nurses,

Evening young and shapely:

Hurries back to work!

Playing “Doctor Says,”

Last word has Primary Nurse…

Wound care’s successful?

–Nine Haiku by…Jonathan Caswell
