IS IT MY TURN?

IS IT MY TURN?

The amputee allegory

Tells an interesting story…

Missing a leg

Puts one down a peg,

Remembering it was gory.

For the first one I couldn’t see

They lost my eye glasses for me…

Trying to write

With poor sight

Was a fiasco for me!

Using a walker was easy…

Sudden change to a cane made me queasy…

Changing shoes

Brought the “pitch-forward” blues,

Was careful on floors wet and greasy.

There’s a Rehab Reunion coming

To check how we all are humming…

‘Twill be good to see

Friends from Therapy,

I’ve been working for three months running!

COLD ENOUGH FOR YOU?

COLD ENOUGH FOR YOU?

In New England folks complain of cold,

Believe me, it’s getting old…

The forecasters say

The average is way

Below normal years all-told.

March is barely beginning,

Forecasters say this while grinning…

Do they know

Or they’ll snow

Us with whatever seems winning?

Comparatively warmer now,

Our body’s adjusted somehow…

What once was warm

Is now our cold norm,

Can we put away the snow plow????

READY,,,AIM,,,!

A RARE BIRD, THIS!

In Rehab, normal clientele

In their rooms do dwell…

Waiting to see

What’s next patiently,

if visits or dinner bell.

This new bird quickly flew

Out and around to view…

Missing scores’

Of visitors

And relatives’ calls let through!

Some proper orientation

Would lessen his isolation…

This able gent

Didn’t get the hint,

From blind observation.

Rehab’s purpose was different to him,

Much more likely wandering at whim…

Once educated

Wandering abated,

Finding company was not as slim!

A REAL ANNOINTING MIRACLE

( maozisraelblog.blogspot.com )

A REAL ANNOINTING MIRACLE

Reading woman’s T-shirts

Printed across the chest..to flirt?

Blessings can bring

For messages sing

About things one shouldn’t skirt.

Rosa, our neighbor indeed,

Wore “YESHUAH”…Christian creed…

As well, on the back,

A “Property of” tract,

Evidencing Holy Spirit feed.

She told my wife and I

Of her miracle and why…

It’s rarely washed

And will never be tossed,

She said with a reverent sigh.

A healing service went to,

She gave the young folks more room…

To jump and praise

God with arms raised,

As caring believers do.

She felt, during praise time, oil,

Run down her arm (no foil)…

Her YESHUAH shirt,

Not soiled with dirt

Had big spots inside of oil!

Anointed oil signifies Spirit,

In the miracle of praise God shared it…

Christ’s human name

Blesses by same

If you’ll believe in Him–and bear it.

–Jonathan Caswell

NOTE:  “YESHUAH” is–I’m told–the Costa Rican language name for JESUS–the first name in English, from the Greek language, of the Lord Christ’s earthly first name.

The idea of oil representing the Holy Spirit and His anointing can be seen in the following Bible passages (NOT a complete listing):

GENESIS 28: 18-22

JAMES 5:14

MARK 6:13

EXODUS 30: 31-33

EXODUS 40:9

HEBREWS 1:9

1ST JOHN 2:27

BOOK OF THE ACTS 10:38

LUKE 4:18

ThIS IS A NURSING HOME !!??!

THIS IS A NURSING HOME!!!

“Rehab” where he was plunked,

Next morning realization sunk…

Rehab meant nursing,

A home converting

Him into a man with spunk.

He joined a familiar crowd

Singing old songs aloud…

Couldn’t tempo keep,

Kept falling asleep–

Went back to his bed duly bowed.

The population there were–

He didn’t mean any slur–

Were mostly infirm,

It made him squirm

Am I really one of THEM…no Sir!

Immediately conscience-struck,

He wanted to pass the buck…

Responsible, yes,

For medical redress

He did to himself—he’s stuck.

For crippled ones he cared,

Not expecting he’d be here…

Ego crushed,

His Rehab rushed

For his own self he still didn’t care?
