IN-BETWEEN SNACKS

IN-BETWEEN SNACKS

Deer and turkeys gather to snack

In-between the highway and the exit ramp….

Depending on the food source,

In there they will camp….

In-between the highway and the exit ramp!

SPRINGTIME DRIP

SPRINGTIME DRIP

Dripping eaves and dripping noses

Beat a soft tattoo…

Icy patches slide off rooftops

Like a loud a-choo!

Foggy heads and misty valleys

Drip, drip alike…

Make it tough to see the roadway,

Daytime or at night.

Clearing patches lead to sunlight,

Clearing of the head…

Easier to see where going

And how good’s the tread.

PAINTED LINES ON BLACK CANVAS

PAINTED LINES ON BLACK CANVAS

Grey lines on wet black,

Nature’s paint in light…

Trees along a parking lot

Dimly lit at night.

L.E.D.s shine from the side,*

Glowing branches dusted snow…

Cold and crisp the outside air

Silent nighttime show!

–Jonathan Caswell

QUICK-CHANGE SEASONS

QUICK-CHANGE SEASONS

Saint Paddy’s not yet over

But decorations flew

Off the tables

For something new.

Replaced by bunnies

Carrying eggs for me and you…

Someone wants their candy

Eggs to chew!
