PRAISE GOD MOST HIGH FOR ANSWERED PRAYER

Praise to you, God Most High,

For hearing prayer on the fly…

And your delight

Being quiet in your Sight,

Bringing us into your Light.

You would talk with us,

Yet we put up the fuss…

Ne’er slowing down

Nor coming around,

In ways that are not just!

Walking with your children in gardens,

Seeing our eyes at Thee widen…

drying our tears

and calming our fears,

Joy at mutual abiding!

We don’t model for kids,

the closeness and joy you give…

But stay away–

Asking others pray–

Misunderstanding God’s writ.

Pray for me, said like Simon,*

The sorcerer on his own ladder climbing…

Unwilling to claim

Given to him in God’s name,

What Christ, without his help, did buy for him!

DON’T WORRY–TRUST THE LORD GOD!

Oh Soul, why do you fear?

The Lord, your Savior is near…

Encouraging with

His word you shall live,

What the Spirit says through His Bible…do you hear?

–Jonathan Caswell

BLONDES, REDHEADS, BRUNETTES

Listing his various loves,

And hair color of former doves…

He found these three

Most frequently,

Were treated with softer gloves.

For blondes he’ll often fall,

One nearly got it all…

A job wasn’t found

And he ran aground,

Someone else got her all!

A brunette is who he married,

And whose torch he’s carried…

For reds he’ll fall

And dream it all,

The brunette is glad he tarried!

FAR MORE THAN DECORATION

FAR MORE THAN DECORATION

Mention the woman’s name “Holly”

And folks think about Christmas jolly…

Singing DECK THE HALLS

While a snow drift calls,

In a Christmas culturally “poly”.

She wanted to go away,

Then decided to stay…

Our Holly found

Without her around,

A lot of folks felt dismay!

Her writing’s a treasure trove

Fashioned in creative love…

Greeting each guest

She does the best,

And really has nothing to prove!

Last of all–to put up with me–

Requires  to the Nth degree…

Kindness unbounded

From a guy who’s hounded

His share toward insanity!

Love her romancing her–no–

But I love the rest of her so…

If I was available

She’d be assailable,

Why a guy hasn’t–I don’t know.

I fervently wish she can–

If she wants–to find a good man…

Whatever she needs

With my Father I plead,

That she may not leave us again.

Some day, of course, many will,

When blogging won’t pay bills…

Or another medium

Makes better comedians,

Then will our blog go still.

WE GIVE OUR MAKER PRAISE

WE GIVE OUR MAKER PRAISE

We give our Maker praise

For all sorts of cloud and haze…

He wraps Himself proud

With myriad dark cloud,

We call Him the Ancient of Days!

All that with breath rejoice,

God  made Man His CHOICE…

Of being able

To choose God’s table,

Or favor and love to lose.

God wants with you to walk.

And not folk who just talk the talk…

Will you agree

His child to be,

Or for eternity balk?

I PROFESS….by Carl Gooch

I Profess
O Lord, I find refuge in you,
I say, “You are my Lord;”
Without you nothing can I do.
You are my shield and sword.
You place saints around me,
Faithful and wise in your sight.
Your word gives life to me,
It fills my heart with delight.
The Lord is my chosen portion,
For He chose me to be His own.
His love is as warm as the sun,
And His arms are my home.
The Lord has blessed me richly,
Beautiful is my inheritance.
Grace and mercy He gave to me;
The only one to bear my sentence.
He blesses me with counsel true,
And instructs my heart at night.
The Lord goes before me in all I do,
Only in Him can I do what is right.
He fills my heart gladness,
My soul rejoices in praise.
To Him my love I profess,
He blesses me all of my days.
