POET…AFTER (A) FASHION!

He calls himself “fashion poet”,

One or two others know it…

In pursuits

Avoiding lawsuits,

He certainly doesn’t want to blow it!

Him being man and all,

Must carefully judge his call…

With less passion

Than stereotypical fashion,

Not being the Beast at the ball.

Gender matters to him,

Especially if women…

They’re the kind

He most has in mind,

Do they mind if he tiptoes in?

<3 MY LOVE FOR LADY BLOGGERS! <3

❤     MY LOVE FOR LADY BLOGGERS     ❤

Avowed love of lady bloggers,

Hard-working creative bloggers…

I love thee all

For me you stand tall,

Driving us romantics bonkers!  🙂

Some of you are very fetching,

Appearance not all that’s catching…

The mind and heart–

Thy very art–

Draweth me to your fine meshings!

By word and artistic guile,

You make this creative man smile…

Cry and laugh

On your behalf,

Each in a wonderful style.

Long distance hugs the rule

In this community cool….

Cool in attitude

To not be rude,

Suggesting of anything cruel.

Group hugs all around,

My love to all of you found….

In likes and raves

From this former knave,

Who likes in whose company he’s found!

CHANGING TREE TANKA

CHANGING TREE TANKA

Colors start to pop,

Trees shut down their leaves’ supply…

Green leaves turn colors:

Morphology is working

Just the same in ev’ry year!

–J.E.C.

People come from far

And near…”peeping” foliage…

Brighter is better:

Bus loads come en mass to shop.

Local business harvests crops!

–J.E.C.

A final push all

Benefit from folderol…

Festivals light skies:

Candied apples and brown bread

Folks ready for winter dead.

–J.E.C.

Railroad excursions,

Northeast woodland incursions…

Train cars filled with joy:

Steam or diesel pull the trains,

Nostalgic commerce makes gains!

MONTH OF MAY PLEASURES

MONTH OF MAY PLEASURES

Last night I spied a deer

Up the driveway, not near,

Roaming the grounds,

Looked me up and down

And went off without fear!

Lilac flower’s perfume

My nostrils gladly consume…

Delicate breeze

Without a sneeze,

Morning, night and afternoon

ALLUSIONS TO SPRING

ALLUSIONS TO SPRING

“Le Sacre du Printemps,”**

Sgtravinsky’s ode to Spring…

Eviscerates the inner man

As discordant chords ka-ching.

Heavy rumblings from the rite

Of virgins dancing ’round…

Past Elders staring hard

To see which will be bound.

Spring rites of fertility

Deeper than Druids’ way…

Hold the ancient mysteries

Before talen away!

On and on the weary cycle goes,

Building to a lusty fever pitch…

Every year the Elders get their choice–

All this to celebrate that  itch.!

–Jonathan Caswell

** “Le Sare du Printemps (in French)” , or, THE RITE OF SPRING, by Russian composer Igor Stravinsky, was written in 1913, as an avant-garde piece of orchestral opera…with stage settings, choreography and costumes.  Its debut on May 29,1913 caused a near riot in the audience!  Listen to it…and you’ll inderstand why (not easy to listen to, the first time.  Information largely from WIKIPEDIA….and memory.

END-OF-DAY HAIKU

END-OF-DAY HAIKU

Forecast warm, sunny,

Workplace: energized hub-bub…

Hallways empty fast!

STIR NOT UP LOVE OUT OF ITS TIME

STIR NOT UP LOVE OUT OF ITS TIME!

(Opinion, based upon Song of Songs 2:7)

Song of Solomon two: seven,

Reminding of the right time for heaven…

Out of context

Is frustrating sex,

Add reason to loaves with leaven.

Sing and dance while you’re young,

Older folks, more foolishly done…

Appointed seasons

Make good reasons

Accepting you are also-run!

Pressure without outlet

Just how stupid we get…

Romance out of time

Invites inner grime

When we are told, “NYET!”.
