TIME TO CONFESS AND REPENT

AUTHOR’S NOTE:  He’s not trying to grandstand—just admit to his guilt of certain motives and conduct and ask forgiveness of those he has wronged–whether or not they feel they were.  It is a part of his Christian belief…being reconciled to God and the ones he has wronged asking forgiveness of both.  There is a Bible basis to all this, which the author believes by faith to be the transcribed word of God to be followed and obeyed.  Especially when he doesn’t!  Questions/Comments are always welcome.

Writer of poetry,

The “fashion” got away from me…

Chasing skirts

Many women hurts,

Of this I am guilty!

Sought “readers” unsuccessfully,

The hidden motive–to see…

What interested

Where saints shouldn’t tread

And pester them endlessly!

The many unreturned visits,

Prove out how wrong is it…

I know my sin

Repenting therein,

Stop this practice is the solution exquisite!

I will  stillreach out,

In subjects not ruled out…

Walk in the flesh

Heavily risks death,

Gotta pull some hot irons out!

The upshot–some I’ll follow–

The rest–if they visit tomorrow…

I’ll respond graciously

But not the pest–not me–

I’ve sinned–I repent in sorrow!

My actions toward those of whom I’ve spoken,

From now on–contact is broken…

This I must do

So they’ll feel safe too,

No need of me in their business poking.

CHURCH ATTENDANCE–A HYPOTHETICAL POEM

He rarely attends now,

It’s gone and got diff’rent somehow…

He feels pushed aside

Not welcomed inside,

No one’s been direct with him, anyhow!

They used to go faithfully,

Found the spirit there strong and free…

The Pastor moved on

And a preacher took on

Things with his own personality.

With his circle of friends,

For our subject, being close to a pastor ends…

You know his pride

Didn’t like “outside”

But he wanted to attend.

Then he and his wife

Both saw ill health in life….

Comparison

With others is sin,

And churned up internal strife!

The preacher/teacher and he,

(Too much alike?) weren’t happy…

It shifted into

“An authority over you”

Which wasn’t as healthy!

Various dissatisfactions

Led to complaints and  feigned actions….

Poor communication

Led to frustration,

In mutual distraction.

So now he stays at home

Sundays, with his wife alone…

No need to go

Taken for granted so,

But he’s stuck–this was his church home.

Socially depended on her,

His wife, for communication stirred…

When she took ill

He didn’t have the will,

To see that his opening up occurred.

He’s given his life for her,

Literally as it were…

Goes it alone

Reaching out he’s done,

Elsewhere–little left at “home”.

Options to go elsewhere?

Feels bound by his wife–so there!

Decision paralyzed–

Easier to survive

By himself, ‘though few benefits to share!

A “hypothetical poem”–which means it is just a poem….!

JESUS WEEPS.

JESUS WEEPS…!

(An opinion piece)

For all the children eaten,

For all His people beaten…

At least they’ll see

Eternity

Away from life so fleeting.

Those who sit by,

Should hear the tortured cry…

Of a god and his raiders,

Hateful invaders,

Who make victims want to die!

“Progressives” who don’t care a whit,

Yawn saying “get on with it”…

So we can win

Not looking at sin,

“That doesn’t bother us one bit.”

They call themselves upright,

But that won’t wash tonight…

Jesus weeps

While a ruler keeps

His vacation schedule tight.

(An opinion piece—of the Poet and those who truly care for others—photo ops. not withstanding!)

CHOSEN BY GOD–NOW GROW!

CHOSEN BY GOD–NOW GROW!

(Ephesians 1: 1-6; 15-23)

Open my eyes, oh Lord Most High,

That I see and comprehend…

All the Spirit  found in Thy Word–

The Wisdom that has no end.

Brothers and sisters praying for me,

Uplifting me through prayer…

That I may see and practice–

Avoiding demonic snare!

Shepherd and under-shepherd both,

Ply Christ Jesus’ troth,

His Body–His Bride–

The Church might abide

In the mind of Christ with growth.

Strengthen then your resolve,

To ask Spirit’s help to see…

All God’s wonder, power and mercy

And with the same, treating me!

If forceful men and women

Can hoodwink the American news crowd…

And not challenged for their deception,

We humble ourselves–not Proud.

If they can’t see through veiling,

How then can we…

Except humble asking for wisdom

From our Father God in eternity?

If only…the Christians would rise up–

If only they believed for sure…

That Christ, God’s Son, gave us Power

In His Spirit to do and endure!

LAUNCHING WORDS, SHIPS, PINK-COLORED SLIPS

LAUNCHING WORDS, SHIPS, PINK-COLORED SLIPS

A face that truly inspires,

Greed and avarice fires…

Dressed up nice

But cold as ice,

Does she care about what transpires?

Often idols are kept

Away from those who have wept…

A picture that’s true

Reality, will it do?

For those whose souls have left?

Women dressed up and admired,

No control over what transpired….

Men use romance

Justifying advance,

After brutally acquired.

(A different side of the coin, perhaps?)

HARD-TO-HEAR HAIKU

HARD-TO-HEAR HAIKU

(Adult Topic)

Become impotent

His fading manhood laments…

But what is inside?

-JEC

Little feeling left,

No place left to vent the ache…

Must thinking change, too?

–JEC

Engorgement all gone,

Being faithful accepts lack…

No one left to love.

–JEC

How to love without?

Can a man still be a man”’

His woman knows that!

–JEC

Appreciates form,

Less likely liquid lusting…

Why keep the old ways?

–JEC

Is safer this way…

For all women that he sees,

Much less threatening!

–JEC

Power lust remains,

That…no non-phallic can cure…

Bad apples near tree.

HAREM SCARE’EM AND ME!

HAREM SCARE ‘EM AND ME !

(To the tune of “THE YELLOW ROSE OF TEXAS”…A SONG)

He thought he’d like a harem–

Oh, what a great idea–

Collecting beautiful women

For each day of the year…

Have one of every hair color:

Of red-heads, two or three,

Some that change with the season

Oh what a company!

But modern girls aren’t like the ones

That lived in olden time,

They’re much more educated,

Don’t easily resign…

Their lives and their futures

To a fat cat jailer-king,

To volunteer they’d like to hear

His cash disbursement ring.

Logistics would be maddening

Even if all were convinced,

Coming from all over

When he saw the bill he winced…

He began feeling outnumbered

Cooperation thin,

Instead of coming one-by-one

They all came after him!

He couldn’t pay their wages

So all up and left,

His fine plans for his evenings–

Not a single one was kept…

And then he got the bills for

The leaving of each one,

He decided then and there

Modern harems were no fun!

I thought of the same thing myself,

Like “THE HAREM OF BIRDS”

But only beautiful bloggers–

Women, in other words…

An exclusive club with just one man

My wife would veto fast,

My flesh already wants control—

The concept sounds a blast.

But thinking realistically

My cost is way too much,

I’ll lose those friends who cannot stand

A married man’s touch…

Long-distance relationships

Are harder to maintain,

I’d just as soon give up now

Before I feel the pain!

–Jonathan Caswell

ANOTHER “CONQUEST” HITS THE DUST.

ANOTHER “CONQUEST” HITS THE DUST!

“Another one bites the dust,”**

Says a song folks have discussed…

Some say conquest

Fits a man best,

Without—it’s hard to adjust.

We’ve done it various ways,

Channeling it for praise…

Getting someone bathed

In the whirl pool saved

Me from being defeated those days.

I guess also poetry

Is challenge and conquest for me…

Building blog following

Without wallowing

In pride’s important to me.

But taken too far I lose,

Followers that I’d chose…

To push the line

Past what’s refined

Where that person began to feel used.

Went for conquest on E-bay,

Until all the money went away…

An addiction to stop

Before the shoes drop,

And I find out what my wife would say!

So it’s back to the drab and drear,

With little to conquer here…

No damsels distressed

But my wife’s constant request,

Why should I hold my own health that dear?

Plus being physically unable

To do certain things makes unstable

Thoughts and desires

becoming dying fires,

Leaves less to put on the table.

You might say,”conquer your poor health,”

But that involves just myself…

No one to save

Or need to be brave,

All that stuff gets shoved on the shelf!
