A FLY IN THE SOUP

A FLY IN THE SOUP

It seems like he’s condemned,

For not “having faith” again…

His wife said “NO”

Day treatment to go,

“Just give it to God” and things mend!

=

A conflict of psychology

And militant theology…

He is made wise

Between the eyes,

Does she really love me?

It is as much about her,

His being available, what she prefers…

Treatment away from  home

Leaves her alone,

Should things happen without warning.

He’s pulling away from church

Apparently unwilling to search….

For Bible answers–

Should he take chances,

To find a safer perch?

WHEN FOLK START REMINDING YOU…!

WHEN FOLK START REMINDING YOU…!

I know I’m in trouble,

When folks remind me double….

To not fall asleep

Am I in trouble deep?

I’d better yawn less or grovel!

Did I really doze,

Or are they just tugging my toes…

Pulling the leg

Of a good egg,

Who else in this building knows?????

JUST A TALKING DONKEY!!

JUST A TALKING DONKEY!

Balaam had no choice,

His donkey developed  voice…

GOD let him go

In order to show,

Israel was God’s choice!!

NEURO-SCIENCE UNLOCKED

NEURO-SCIENCE UNLOCKED

Yesterday on P.B.S.,

Some folks did more than guess…

Which portions of  brain

Are active when,

Pictures  or ideas impress

How many “independent” decisions

Due to synaptic collisions…

Are not by will

But biochemical.

In marketing, dating, religions.

It even they say,

Determines political sway…

Relating to pain

In others is gain

To philosophies and platforms that way!

–Jonathan Caswell

BEING TOO PESSIMISTIC?

BEING TOO PESSIMISTIC?

Most friends will smile and wave,

with no expectation to save…

You unless close,

Must I be verbose,

This life is made that way.

Find a friend as close as a brother,

And you’ll need few others…

Running to your aid

You will have it made

If you are the same to the other!

NOT AS ACCEPTING AS OTHERS

NOT AS ACCEPTING AS OTHERS!

I’m careful where I order from,

Not foods set well in my “tum”.

Black olives, hot peppers

All mixed together–

Make for a gastric scrum!

I can’t help what won’t stay down,

In this culturally diverse town…

Reality alas

Comes up fast,

However much I’d keep it down.

Cross-cultural participation my pride,

Fails when It won’t stay inside…

Certain tastes

Become a waste,

Which anti-acid won’t always subside!

Onions and green peppers I eat,

With enough lettuce, they’re a treat…

Tomato, cucumber,

On those I can slumber,

But beyond that, I bow to defeat!

My chef salad has all of  that,

With sliced cheese and meat for a hat…

Lite  Italian dressing

Sure is a blessing,

And none of it will go “KER-SPLAT”!

MY HEART IS CHAINED

(Illustration from Wal-Mart on-line…she bought mine at the store.)

MY HEART IS CHAINED

I won’t sing “Unchain My Heart”,

‘Cause that has no part…

In how I feel

Toward a Bride to deal

Me a surprising start!

She bought me one like her brother’s,

He wears it by his druthers…

She could have exclaimed

She has two men chained,

And neither one she smothers!

Perhaps it isn’t my style

I think of a biker’s profile…

I wear it for her

As she’d prefer,

And wear it with a smile!

EATING HEALTHY YET?

EATING HEALTHY YET?

The pizza’s actually baked

Unlike last night when I faked

By having it “nuked”,

Not really astute,

But sufficient for when I ate.

A chef salad for tonight,

Cold pizza should be alright…

As a snack

If attack

Of the munchies take hold tonight!

WHAT WILL IT BE TODAY?

WHAT WILL IT BE TODAY?

What will it be today,

The last insulin hours away…

Early morning

Had a high sugar warning,

So injected a full dose right away!

Somehow this morning was skipped,

Last minute to the dealer I zipped…

Ay lunch slept

Till  mealtime crept

And then off to work I ripped.

Nearly seven PM,

Found the time to test, AHEM….

Not too bad–

Two-eighty-nine, I had,

But I don’t want to skip things again!

A GLORIOUS DAY

ANOTHER GLORIOUS DAY!

A warm and wonderful day,

The sun shone down partway…

Needed no jacket

Just as well for the racket

Of road repairs got in the way.

Our headlight fixed for free,

The next time there’re might be a fee…

Our dealer is nice

They’ve blessed us twice

As much as any we’ve seen.

The sunset I saw quickly,

Turning left in traffic is tricky…

Then had to chase

A parking space,

Watching sunsets in traffic is tricky!
