Sovereign King, Lord of the nation
My soul longs for your salvation.
My hope lives in your loving word,
The sweetest promise I ever heard.
My eyes yearn to see your face
And be forever in your grace.
How long must this chain bind me?
When Lord will you comfort me?
I have become like shriveled fruit
Yet I’ve not forgot your statutes.
O Lord, how long must I endure?
When will I see you Holy and pure?
This world lays traps and snares
Of your laws no one seems to care.
You precepts are just and right
They are my source, my light.
Lord, I place my trust in you alone;
As I wait on you to take me home.
