THANK YOU INDEED, FOR A.A.

THANK YOU INDEED, FOR A.A.

In our apartment complex,

It feels like an A.A. annex…

Several members,

Glowing embers,

Meeting as necessity directs.

Some meet every day of the week,

If lack of cabin fever you seek…

One man in our midst

Has joined, and benefits

From lots of support he seeks.

I manage to meet one “Paul”

Often in the hall….

Or he meets me

Writing poetry,

We share a common “call.”

He and I both care

For people who need us there…

Mike B. and more

To help folks away from despair.

My Dad helped A.A.,

With his chaplaincy to pay…

Attention to

And follow through,

Helping others to find their way.

OUR COMMUNITY

OUR COMMUNITY

(various limericks)

Some folks can minister fine

If you give them time…

To find where you’re

Less assured

And give you a nudge as inclined.

A marshmallow in a bowl

As a mission of mercy, he told…

To satisfy craving

Avoiding the caving

Beckoning at a deep hole!

This community by itself

Manages to dwell…

Most of the time

Without drawn lines,

Or ostentatious wealth.

A car came down, turning wide,

Our building and cars she spied…

That blonde looked too young

To have begun

Considering living inside!
