In our apartment complex,
It feels like an A.A. annex…
Several members,
Glowing embers,
Meeting as necessity directs.

Some meet every day of the week,
If lack of cabin fever you seek…
One man in our midst
Has joined, and benefits
From lots of support he seeks.
–
I manage to meet one “Paul”
Often in the hall….
Or he meets me
Writing poetry,
We share a common “call.”

He and I both care
For people who need us there…

To help folks away from despair.

My Dad helped A.A.,
With his chaplaincy to pay…
Attention to
And follow through,
Helping others to find their way.
