Leftovers from the kitchen

I have here to take home…

Checking for the cook

Is in our rulebook tome.

Can’t stomach pimento,

So had to throw away…

Four portions of chop suey

Would’ve fed Americans days!

–

The soup I think is chicken,

Really can’t be sure….

Plus a couple loaves of bread

That come via cleaners pure.

–

Willing to help out a guy

What makes so little bread…

Keeping wife and self alive,

And praise to God well-fed.

–

I’ll find me a bag before

My relief guard comes…

And American chop suey*

Isn’t one of HIS favorite ones!

* American chop suey…in some circles called “goulash” is composed of cooked elbow macaroni, in a tomato-meat sauce.  People will often add green or red peppers (like pimento) and/or onions….to make a “one dish” meal.

Toast before being utterly…

Famished at home

While reading a tome,

So the tummy would stop its muttering!  🙂
