ALL HEPPED UP–NOWHERE TO GO?

(A poem on aging)

American kids over-sexed,

We shiver for what comes next…

Older parts fail

No drug can avail,

To solve abysmal  success!

Addicted–what that means–

The failing physical versus day dreams…

Almost abuse

Of things of no use,

No more great shivers and screams!

Easy entry to sex,

Just how to get out, disconnects…

Pushing for joy

Won’t work, Old Boy,

Can’t always keep what you “expects”.

BACK FROM AN ABYSS

BACK FROM AN ABYSS

Three more days and I’m free,

From chajns that had hold of me…

God wiped out claims

On several games

I’ll bend my knee to Him, only!

The abyss in question: Ebay…

With regret for the people betrayed…

Too easy to fall

And spend it all,

My God loves me though He’s dismayed.

For the sake of a good life tasted,

So much money’s been wasted…

Big debts unpaid

The addict laid

Himself and family debt-pasted.

THE DEVIL’S IN DE-MALES

THE DEVIL’S IN DE MALES

(OR IN DE FE-MALES!)

The devil’s in details

Of males and females,

Wanting wilder oats when they have calmed down…

When we want cheering

Temptation’s in the clearing,

Waiting for us to act like a clown!

Doesn’t matter who you are

Righteousness won’t go far,

If we do not exercise self-control…

It may seem more fun

To be on the run,

But we cannot out run sin’s black hole.

Don’t know about you women

But we men get a grinning,

Taking harder stronger stuff to get a smile…

Day dreams and picture schemes

Take more work behind the scenes,

And we have to stop and rest for a while.

Better still find conviction

To deal with the addiction,

Enter “rehab.” to clarify the soul…

Put aside the off-colored

And eating many crullers,

Cleanse your spirit and return to being whole!
