Adopting the cat of a neighbor…

If she’s inclined

And doesn’t mind,

Signing adoption papers!

I don’t think she is inclined,

She’d think I’m out of my mind…

For her”Kizzy” cat

She’d start a spat,

And  WOULDN’T THINK US VERY KIND!

Nine cans in the cupboard

Of cat food sit waiting…

For adoption papers

And celebrating!

A litter pan in the bathroom

With a slightly used scoop…

Waiting for the “joy” of

Cleaning kitty poop!

Finances are wanting

For even a “shelter” cat…

When in an apartment,

There’s little chance of getting around that!
