Close to water and streams,
Delightful fall colors seen….
First in season
Damp is the reason,
Not many are left in green!

September is upon us,
Time for the change
Of foliage and hairdos
A time to rearrange
Colorful poison ivy
In red and yellow hues,
Myriad of colors
Shocked by frosty blues.
Hair colors a-changing,
Professional or by box…
Strawberry blonde conservatively
Colors vivacious locks.
The girl or guy underneath
Supposedly the same,
Putting a new face on things
A part of living game!

AUTUMN HAIKU HERDING
–
Fall plantings are in,
Cabbages, hardy mums bloom…
Autumn colors glow!
–
Warm days–cooler nights
Ushering those southward flights…
Noisily birds fly.
–
Harvest time each year,
Dresses and skirts lower hems…
Less yield for the men!
–
Snow birds fly or drive,
Commuting to stay alive…
Rubber tires fly!
–
Children play in leaves,
Hot chocolate sales go up…
Deserted beaches!
–
Eggs and produce come
Veggies come from foreign lands…
Locally–now!

AUTUMN FLORAL POP
Yellow, orange and red,
Art planted in flowerbed…
Purple and green
Accent this scene,
To show not everything’s dead.
–
Commercial properties
Ornamentals squeeze…
Right into Fall
Their money’s worth all,
To maximize customer “tease”.
