AUTUMN FLORAL POP

AUTUMN FLORAL POP

Yellow, orange and red,

Art planted in flowerbed…

Purple and green

Accent this scene,

To show not everything’s dead.

Commercial properties

Ornamentals squeeze…

Right into Fall

Their money’s worth all,

To maximize customer “tease”.

AUTUMN PLANTING

AUTUMN PLANTING

Ornamental colored cabbage,

Not edible but nice adage…

To hardy mums

For tidy sums,

A nice kind of corporate baggage!

MYSTERY TREE

MYSTERY TREE

In the courtyard a mystery tree,

Unfamiliar to me…

‘Suppose I ask,

A simpler task,

But wouldn’t be fun for me.

It has these four-petal flowers,

And fruit in its autumn bowers…

A corrugated kind

That doesn’t mind

Being dropped to the ground after showers.

Prithee…do you know it’s identification?

INSPECTION ROUND

INSPECTION ROUND

As the Springtime faeries wake

With the birds who sing…

And the Summertime fills with wings,

As faeries dance and swing—

Autumn faeries, of an age

To start slowing down…

Pick their way through berry and sage

And leaves littering the ground.

It’s these ones, beauteous in wisdom

That ready all the earth

At proper times in different climes

To sleep before rebirth…

Autumn leaves are raining down,

Making roofs for the little ones

Preparing for their season of rest

Just below the surface of ground!

DARKNESS IS RETURNING….

DARKNESS IS RETURNING…

You’d think that we’d be glad

That autumn is at hand…

The slowly turning seasons,

After summer’s last stand.

The glories of sunlight at eight PM,

Give way to sunset at seven…

Proud days of short skirts and muscle-bound “T”‘s

By cooler weather are leavened.

A hotter summer on record

We haven’t had for a while…

Let’s relax into autumn

Remembering with a wistful smile!
