OUR GEESE GETTING VISITORS?

OUR GEESE GETTING VISITORS?

 An Atlantic Goose Management

Representative will be sent…

To visit “our” geese,

Will he come in peace–

Will the outcome we resent?

Maybe the one with broken wing

Will be kept for zoo visiting…

She’s so far survived

Several years, stayed alive,

Despite snow and everything!

Or maybe he’ll take a goose census,

Combining with numbers “immensus”…

Migration flyways

Change often these days,

As habitat change commences.

AT THE APPLES AGAIN!

AT THE APPLES AGAIN!

Driving in to work today

I glanced at trees by the highway…..

Some geese were there

Enjoying the air,

Had they munched on those apples all day?

The apples had fallen aground,

The geese seemed happy they found…

This new food source

Which I’d endorse,

Their method of recycling was sound.

If some apples were in vinegar prep.,

The geese will have a “hic” in their step…

Don’t be a goose chider

If the mash turns to cider,

The poor birds need SOMETHING for pep!

The Momma goose with the broken wing,

Couldn’t fly, so missed the whole thing…

The gate was closed

As one supposed,

The day after Thanksgiving.

MAMA GOOSE HAS COMPANY

MAMA GOOSE HAS COMPANY

Mama goose (the one with a broken wing)

Has the entire family at Thanksgiving…

Perhaps when snow is sown

The kids will have flown,

Or maybe hang out for the Christmas Carol Sing!

(Referring to my poem,  LEFT ALONE, posted at:  https://bythemightymumford.wordpress.com/2013/11/13/left-alone/.)

THE BROKEN WING GANG

THE BROKEN WING GANG

This group is terrorizing

Our grounds these cold winter days…

They’re out to see what they can snatch,

To see if thievery pays.

The broken wing is Momma,

Who often winters alone…

But this year the kids and their Dad

She insisted would stay around home.

They’ve actually been pretty good of late

Until this sunny day…

Yes pretty good for a half-dozen geese

Who anoint the sidewalks with grey.

The broken wing gang has broken out,

Leaving webbed foot prints in the snow…

Not much green grass so this too will pass

‘Til later in the year, or so!
