COFFEE-COUGH MEDICINE MIX-?

COFFEE-COUGH MEDICINE MIX-?

I went into the grocer’s,
The cashier saw my drink,
She said she had once tasted it–
The rest down the kitchen sink…
She wondered how I could drink–
I had since eight-years-old,
But I didn’t add that I liked
It better warm than cold!

She crinkled up her nose
And I went on my way,
Got in my car and opened up,
Put several sips away…
I didn’t have a chance to tell
The more sips that one takes,
The better tasting it is
And thirst it really slakes!

Identify the elixr…
Oh why should I tell,
If you’re put off by the title
You won’t like it too well….
But…get beyond that first sip
Into four or five,
You’ll find it is a great soda
On which we tend to thrive!

I see inquiring eyes out there—
It isn’t “cherrywine”,
But like that local favorite
It’s been a long long time…
A part of New England history
It’s still a favorite “brew”
And if you guessed MOXIE
You’ll grow to like it ,too!

MEMORIAL DAY COMETH

MEMORIAL DAY COMETH!

(Tune of CHRISTMAS IS COMING)

Memorial Day comes,

Are you ready for the sales,

AA time at which a salesclerk quails….

If you cannot find a sales clerk, a cashier will do…

If you cannot find some cashier help,

God Bless you!
