BLACK CAT SAUNTERING

BLACK CAT SAUNTERING

Black cat of many years

Suddenly appears…

Looking for food

With sly attitude,

Remembering being reared.

In the boiler room years ago,

Security helped her grow…

Soft-hearted men

Comforted then,

A mother and her kittens in tow!

I’m sorry I didn’t leave

My leavings for the cat to receive…

But she’ll get by

During snow fly,

Other dinners to retrieve.

I don’t know how long this cat

Will wander outside like that…

Those woods are her home

To be left alone,

Appearing at the drop of a hat.

ON QUIET PAWS

ON QUIET PAWS

(An Encounter)

On quiet paws it crept around the corner,

Seeing this big guy walking along…

Freezing up thinking it might need a coroner

It heard the man speak in gentle sing-song.

Wasn’t really sure if twas friend or foe

As the man skirted around wide…

Its black and white fur poised to quickly go,

This man made his way and cooed “goodbye”.
