NIGHT VISION

CCTV must see after dark,

If Security has to embark…

On watching grounds

For out-of-bounds,

Intruders intent on a lark!

For such work it is desirous,

To have a functioning iris…

To open wide

At eventide,

To see anyone so desirous!

CAMERA VIEW ON A RAINY DAY

My view on CCTV

Looks pretty good to me…

Lawns turn green

And pretty the scene,

Road sand has moved naturally!

Flower bed edging is sharp,

Waiting for plant here to park…

A couple weeks likely

Before we’re frost-free,

Then the landscapers embark!

Raining for two weeks,

Some of us sprouting leaks…

With webbed feet

Our change is complete,

Add gills–we can lounge in creeks!

CCTV ONE CAN SEE

CCTV ONE CAN SEE

It’s raining so hard you know,

On camera it looks like snow…

Positioning a light

Behind a camera bright,

Reveal rain streaks’ down-flow.

WAR TO WIN—A BATTLE LOST

WAR TO WIN–A BATTLE LOST

He couldn’t resist much more,

Slipping poetry under her door…

Cameras saw most

Of his anxious post,

He can claim he was making a tour!

CCTV AND COLD COFFEE

CCTV AND COLD COFFEE

Watching them walk down the hall,

Observing every footfall…

When she walks by

He lets out a sigh

With a moment’s look of enthrall.

WINTER’S ARRIVAL

WINTER’S ARRIVAL

At about eleven PM

Eastern Standard Time…

Our rain turned into snow,

A slippery, slushy rime.

Worcester, Mass., is getting

What was promised all along…

What was originally wetting,

Turns into a Christmas song.

The flakes are getting bigger

As I monitor CCTV…

My relief is coming, I’ll go on my round

And I hope that is safe for me…?

CCTV FAUNA

CCTV FAUNA

Over a camera, a spider,

Moves forth and back like a glider…

Spinning its web

Before making bed,

Hoping for unwary colliders!

We’ve seen hornets, wasps and flies,

Become giant-sized…

The farther the focus

The more hocus pocus,

And the bigger they seem to our eyes.

The underside of this spider looks white,

At least near that shining spotlight…

Its legs all moving

And the web is improving,

Should be finished by morning’s light.

GINGER AFTER NIGHTFALL

GINGER AFTER NIGHTFALL

A ginger tabby cat

Just walked across the screen…

Looking for something to eat,

Near the swamp’s outlet stream.

It walks in front of that camera

Every week or so…

Where it goes after CCTV

I really don’t know.

I hope it finds a nice soft nest,

Even better, a nice filling meal…

Looking via cameras at animal life

Is part of this job’s appeal!

IN AN UNDISCLOSED LOCATION…!

IN AN UNDISCLOSED LOCATION…!

In an undisclosed location

Works a Guard all alone….

Making sure

That on his tour,

All doors are rammed home.

His senses are heightened

As the work load is lightened…

It’s bound to stay

A long night’s way

Until each bolt is tightened.

With no one on the floor,

Just the desk, he’s done before…

This evening’s split

So another will get

Enough hours and the final tour.

But for the rest of the week,

Eight hours at the desk will tweak…

Labor cost down

So the client’s found,

But the little guy accepts it meek.

Can’t write all poetry,

With limits to creativity….

Need to bring a book,

With frequent looks

At all places with the CCTV!
