Remembering all the fruity

People once on duty…

Each with a quirk

They brought to work,

And some were downright snooty.

Gate closed without snapping the lock,

How many new guards did that shock…

Thinking they

Know the right way,

Not realizing the client was tops.

Questioning this and that,

Training to them was old hat…

Showing stuff

Was hardly enough,

“There must be a reason for that!”

In a way I’m glad those days

Are gone in security haze…

Working alone

I’m right at home,

Without vulgar attitude displays.

You know what Security does?

The oddest job there ever was…

Closing doors, closing gates,

Handing out checks by certain dates,

And picking up carpet fuzz.

The Guard wants to close Gates,

But geese and their younger mates…

Are wandering

And pondering

At feeding frenzied rates.

AHA! they’ve suddenly swarmed,

Inside as if warned…

It’s growing dark

And time to park

In the pond before predators swarm!

The gates are closed at last,

Despite flock-sized droppings cast…

He watched his stepping

By careful schlepping,

So his shoes wouldn’t stick fast!
