“SPRING RAIN HAIKU”

SPRING RAIN HAIKU

Snow flurried morning,

Three days’-worth of hard raining?

Picnics are awash!

Daylight Savings Time,

Promises more sunlight now…

Rain boots–not swim suits!

Seventies weekend,

No…not the  years we lived it…

But temperature!

Springtime rain clouds pour

Out God’s blessings water-born!

Sing His praise, all earth!

–Jonathan Caswell

(each a separate haiku, although all are related by theme.)

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME END

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME END

Once we had it light ’til eight,

And now its dark past five…

Time itself is slowing while

Our spirits take a dive.

Next week we’ll gain one more hour,

Supposedly to sleep…

Most I know will still go

Ahead despite time creep.

Sunrise will happen “later”

And we’ll go home from work in the dark…

Winter comes on, not many are fond

Of the commute on which they’ll embark!
