VISIONARY FANTASY LETDOWN

Formed a vision nice
Was put on let-down ice…
What I saw
Stuck in my craw,
Imagination didn’t suffice!

With imaginary deed…
Mine fell short
In substance/comport,
Disappointment was guaranteed!

With those super actors compared,
I’m nowhere close to there!
My ego went SPLATT!
I’m done with that,
So don’t bother stopping to stare.

Via his loaner wheelchair
He sampled the outside air…
Autumn wood smell
Suited him well,
But nobody knew he was there!

Visiting then,
Disappointed, did blind moralizing.

Somehow oversighted
He can’t understand why then…
The signs are not bigger still,
And the “reblog” button is killed…
He’s had less trouble
With commercial site scuffle,
They’re sharing, but deny any thrill.

NINE CANS IN THE CUPBOARD
(As opposed to “Pennies in the Fountain”)
Nine cans in the cupboard
Of cat food sit waiting…
For adoption papers
And celebrating!

A litter pan in the bathroom
With a slightly used scoop…
Waiting for the “joy” of
Cleaning kitty poop!

Finances are wanting
For even a “shelter” cat…
When in an apartment,
There’s little chance of getting around that!

As a Poet he’s not feeling so bad,
The low readership he had….
Grew nice, sturdy bones
In several time zones,
This world-wide distribution makes him glad!

NO PET PARENTING, ALAS!
November of last year
We lost our Tippie Cat dear…
Wanted to adopt
But have been stopped,
It’s gotten too expensive, we fear.

Our Apartment Complex’s new rules,
Have taken our ability to choose…
Requiring deposits
And carriers in closets,
Correct documentation, or tenancy lose!
–
It pains us to not have a cat,
No way we can afford all that….
One rules page to three
And financially,
We gotta stay where we are, and that’s that!
