THE MINI DUCK MARCH

THE MINI DUCK MARCH

NOT with a lot of pomp,

Or lordly measured stomp…

Ducklings waddle

At full throttle,

Homeward to their swamp.

Apparently not Mom or Dad

On the commute that they’ve had…

But in a double line

They scramble quick time,

In amongst the bushes and shad.

Like a caterpillar there and gone,

They quickly gain the pond…

But avoid those geese

Who are mean (at least)

While they scatter to Dads and Moms.

RAINY SEASON?

RAINY SEASON?

I hear in the tropics and Middle East,

Rainy season comes with the least…

Provocation

To those nations

That think it a blessing but a beast.

It feels like the tropics around here,

With “endless” rain so drear…

At least, as some say,

We’re not swept away

Which is a concept that we fear.

Observations from living upstairs….

Ducks in the back yard have airs

That their temporary pond

May last beyond

Their needs or wants or cares!
