THANKS FOR BEING THERE!!!

STATS…AS OF THIS MOMENT.

STATS…AS OF THIS MOMENT!

I am SO GLAD that my friend Megan has reached 100,000 Followers!  That’s a lot for one year of blogging.

My own humble blog….BY THE MIGHTY MUMFORD…has the current Stat. info:

ALL-TIME VIEWS:  20,293

POSTS (INCLUDES REBLOGS):  4,541

BLOGGERS FOLLOWING:  468

FOLLOWING ON TWITTER:  6

FOLLOWING ON FACEBOOK:  327

(UNFORTUNATELY, I’ve been unable to refresh my connection to Facebook, so these may be losing out!)

While no figures are available, I also share on Linked-In twice…only one of the two accounts do I actively monitor.  Lost the password to the other one!

BLOGS I FOLLOW: About 1,260 (Don’t ask how I keep track of them all!  It’s a courtesy I extend to follow any blogs of interest to me)

REBLOGGING POLICY:

My basic policy is to reward those who actively follow my blog, including an “inner circle” of folks most interested and active with Comments, and who keep in touch with me.  This used to include the ones showing up on my Google mail account, until they were apparently crowded out by Google Plus.  These folks I still actively seek out to read and follow and reblog as time and space permit.

I also to a lesser extent than previously, actively seek blogs of interest through the Word Press Reader that I follow and/or find of interest, in accordance with my beliefs and views on various topics, and those things I’d like to learn more about.

As you are aware, I also hold a priority toward OUR POETRY CORNER, and Ron DuBour, who invited me to join his poetry community on Face Book, and followed him here onto Word Press.  The rest, as somebody said, is history!

NOT FRIENDED

NOT FRIENDED

He sent a Friend Request

To a girl he used to know best…

His love in High School

When he was a fool,

And she got him off her chest.

On Facebook he finds her

And offers to reconfer…

But she remains silent

While not actually violent,

Refusing to concur.

He sees she’s got family,

A clan which fills her need….

So he’ll move on,

He’s done nothing wrong

‘Cause results were never guaranteed!

A FACEBOOK CONFESSION

A FACEBOOK CONFESSION

He joined up on Facebook,

It was a brand new thing

Spending hours interacting,

Enjoying the time to sing…

Work time made things shorter

And poetry came along,

Less and less time to befriend

And more to get along.

Like so many Facebook friends

He chose to collect

People as if just stamps or coins,

Very few he would reject…

He then had too many,

Could relate to just a few…

His greedy heart had gotten big

So what could he do?

He kept writing poetry

For another’s page,

Following out to a blog

Where he could be “co-sage”…

His Facebook friends were largely

Left back in the dust,

When some friends de-friended

Him, it was hard to adjust.

The poet moves still outward

With a blog all his own,

He shares on Facebook, Twitter,

And with E-mails from home…

Now using shared computers

He’s got lesser time,

The most he gives to anyone

Is reams and reams of rhyme.

AFTER THE ELECTION

AFTER THE ELECTION…

The day after “our side”

Lost in a way we couldn’t abide,

Is all that we said

Forgotten and dead,

Or is it the start of a slide?

Not everyone in the world

Looks at the vindictiveness hurled…

As political game

In another name,

Just rhetoric ’til next time is squirreled.

What of the Christian’s light,

Even if we are proved right…

Was love our aim

Or merely blame,

For things we didn’t see as right?

Was our message always Christ-led,

Or was our messages heisted…

By innuendo,

Short-term goals to show,

That hidden worldly zeitgeist?

Facebook had more than one spot

Around me where tempers got rather hot…

Are those the faces

We show world races,

That God is Love, but we are not?

The damage is done, I know,

And who am I, but the average “Joe”…

Godly communities

Ought to fall on their knees

And repent of political blow.
