SAME REFRAIN–DIFFERENT WORDS

SAME REFRAIN–DIFFERENT WORDS

No matter how often I say it,

‘Tis actions that will display it…

I need my wife

For all of my life,

‘Though I don’t very often portray it!

This matter of the car,

It hadn’t gotten far…

More complicated

Than anticipated,

My reasoning was bizarre.

She shamed me to get up in time

To take responsibility, mine…

Getting things started,

My foot-dragging thwarted–

She’s learned how to get me in line!

The grouchy “little” boy

Found himself employed…

Doing right

With less of a fight,

Being led by the nose toward joy.

TWO PEOPLE—SO DIFFERENT!

TWO PEOPLE–SO DIFFERENT!

They became friends for life

And then man and wife…

Compatible yes

But soon the stress

Of living brought out strife.

They held a common Faith

In which they thought was safe…

But took a while

To reconcile,

Backgrounds that would chafe.

Over the years was seen

Both could tend toward the mean…

(Telling truth is

Some times ruthless,)

And foot-dragging, when not so keen.

Complementary–oh, yes.

They work together best…

Although he was taught

Independence ought

To be possible if only she’d try!

Using Bible doesn’t always close

Out arguments as supposed…

Each has a view

With references too,

An uneasy truce imposed.

Sometimes the best means of escape,

Is a shared form on video tape…

Or else one walks

Away from the talks

Avoiding getting the other by the nape!

Not everything’s perfect just yet,

There’s a lot more growing to get…

They will remain friends

Until beyond life’s ends,

No splits are considered to regret!
