Foraging in-between,
Highway and exit ramp seen…
Acorns and grass
Singly en mass,
Turkeys and deer in-between!

CHANGING BUNKS
–
In warmer weather male skunks,
Try to trade for new bunks…
Sleeping alone
They fight for their own,
Not willing to build double bunks!
–
The female skunk is fine
For a number of them reclined…
In the same den–
It’s warmer then–
A fact to which males aren’t resigned.
–
How do we know this goes on,
Just take a whiff near the lawn…
Smells acrid
When the males bid
For better bed rooms in which to sleep on!

HHHEEEEE’S BAAAACK!!!!
I haven’t seen him for a while,
But he’s come back with a smile…
Our ghostly white skunk
Unpacked his trunk,
Deciding that our grubs have style!
–
The camera just caught sight
Of a foraging skunk nearly white…
Recognizing that gait
I anticipate,
We’ll have to walk carefully tonight.
–
I don’t see him in the flowers,
He’ll be on the lawn for hours…
Procuring his meal
With consummate zeal,
Confident in olfactory powers.
