THE MATADOR WOMAN

THE MATADOR WOMAN

Have you seen a woman matador,

In silk costume to love and adore…

She tames that bull

By just the right pull,

The beast on its knees on the floor!

So often the same goes for men

Visual wonder catches us oft again…

Push-up bras will

Give any man  pause til

Released or pulled right in!

As for a big bull on the hoof,

Most people consider it spoof…

For a woman to try

Capturing  the bull guy,

Would make a spectacle  forsooth  !

HOLDING THE FORT

HOLDING THE FORT

These dank days of winter,
Often cruel, long…
Brighten up occasionally
With wandering minstrel song.

Into the manor he or she
May find a fire bright,
To sing a tale soft and sweet
Or harsh as wolves’ moonlight!

Grateful acceptance of mixed warmth
Placed well within reach…
Assists with what a minstrel tells,
The latest tale to teach.

A bed of straw in the steaming barn
Or better yet, the house…
Could make up for a week of nights
Among pine trees and grouse.

Years—no, eons—have washed o’er
As minstrels are not seen
In the streets of modern towns,
Rarely on computer screens!

Minstrel spirits wander around
Via theaters of the mind…
Searching out householders brave,
Who for tales are inclined.

We minstrels trade on different stuff,
Not meade or meat or straw…
Plying the ancient ways forsooth
To entertain and awe.
