GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST,
the paycheck has arrived…
We thank Him for provision
And the means to survive…
All praise, laud and honor
To Jesus Christ our King,
We praise you Lord, we are restored…
by your check timing!

A limit on night time munchies
And an extra insulin shot…
Ate just enough this morning
And a nap for two hours I got…
I thought I felt real funny,
Weaker than I normally do–
Tested “seventy-four”
down through the floor
But not as high as I was…WHEW!

Memorial day—
Unofficial summer–
Becomes the cookout crowd,
Many parties
And boat launches
Being rather loud!
A quieter time had
By families for sacrifices
And the sacrificed.
Flags flying,
Roads blocked
For the annual parades!
Veterans of all ages and sizes
Proudly walk in time,
Most glad that it’s over!

WADI-A-DO,
When the answer’s deeper,
WADI-A-DO
When the feeling’s raw…
WADI-A-DO
When embedded sleepers
Inhibit one’s own jaw?
–
Now we’ve gone to two weeks
Between sessions just when I hurt
My weekly safety net is in ruins
While my problems have a growth spurt!
–
WADI-A-DO
When nothing lasts forever,
WADI-A-DO
When your core seems rotten too…
WADI-A-DO
To find yourself a lever
A loving God provided that for you!

Quiet in here it is,
While outside, the peepers are peeping!
They muddle through
And we will too,
With a pot of hot tea steeping.
–
It’s so quiet up front
Sitting behind the desk…
Handlers of air
And electronic fare,
Cause a constant drone that’s featureless!
–
With my jacket, rather warm…
The long hallways–voices murmur,
Often empty
There is plenty
Or racket aT break time.

“branie new day”
–
My Lord–a brandie new day,
the old has passed away…
what happened last night
is seen in new light,
and other bills we’ll pay!
–
another threatening storm
in March—Super Tuesday’s warm–
snow and rain
political pain,
a new legacy born?

THE CASHIER’S LAMENT
–
The third shift cashier at PRICE CHOPPER explained
That soon that would close for stocking shelves the same…
But shoppers could not come in anymore!
–
Her really liked his job and difficult for another,
His customers were nice, treating him like a brother…
But his sad news he must tell.
–
Seems the corporate entity of PRICE CHOPPER *has changed,
“MARKET 32” is he newly changed name…
And his store won”t open third shift anymore!
–
I nearly cried with Michael–his last name I forget,
He’s thinking of protesting–losing his job faster yet…
There’s not much one can do!

PRICE CHOPPER is a grocery store chain originating in Amsterdam, New York State, spreading into New England…where the author is.
GOING PHILOSOPHICAL
–
Funny thing==how a part of
Life seems dead, suddenly
Resurects! A fire-brand
Without any smoke
Erupts, if only for
A brief moment–
Until next time.

UNTITLED –by Renee F.*
–
It is bright here by the window
The mid-March sun, now
windless, warm,
filters through a dirty pane
To fall–sprawling and heavy
upon my tanned,
weathered, tired face.
Only to cause
these eyes, these eyes which
have seen much.
too much for their years:
to squint, to shut out
in retaliation.
–
I will grow here in spite–
in spite of myself–yes, me.
I once painted my world
by such a window.
I once painted,
but did not stop to finish,
did not sign my name to it
with satisfaction
or contentment, but hung it on my wall
nevertheless–a monument to grace
in failure–
and grow there I did
in spite of myself…
unfinished,
paused and peering, seeing so
as not to paint.

ZOO DENTAL HYGIENIST
–
Alligator or crocodile,
Either–both–give your best smile….
Keep those jaws good and wide
‘Cause I’m going to crawl right inside,
Now, don’t forget and take a nap
I’m cleaning your teeth of tartar and crap,
This might just tickle or cause some pain
But if you don’t …SNAP!
