Happy New Year rings
Over several days it brings…
Friends stopping by
Brightening eye,
Sharing love and good things.

One Day isn’t enough,
To change hopeful from gruff…
Many’s the time
A receiving line,
Lightens like a powder puff.

It’s proper for over a week
Of the first month to seek…
A richer New Year
To all we hold dear,
Meaning it beyond when we speak!

I wish for all the Way,
To a better New Year every day…
To learn and rejoice
And gratefully voice
Humility—that’s okay!
