A FALLING DREAM

A FALLING DREAM

I  remember of my dreams many,

The import of some is uncanny…

A certain dream

Daylight has seen,

Reflecting my understanding.

Reaching for a book on a shelf,

Not watching out for myself…

Tripped on a chair

And fell right there,

Crying  in frustration for myself.

I should have had my cane,

Forgotten somewhere, the same…

Helped catch me in time

In another rhyme,

Thus going without it is vain!

Was I hurt? Only my pride,

Two knees and my confidence inside…

As of yet no tears

In daylight it appears,

But in dreams hard to keep them to hide.

THE EVIL WITHIN

THE EVIL WITHIN

When frustration calls,

Blackness from within befalls…

When inopportune

One acts like a lune,

Prompting others to put up their walls.

Taking it out on one’s mate,

Is a bad pattern to orate…

Have to step back and see

“How much is it me?”

The complaints are not boiler plate!

We go through trouble and grind

Developing state of mind…

Like the mind of Christ

We try to act nice,

On the inside as well as in kind.

Becoming aware of the wrong

Is a first step to changing the song…

Less at fever pitch

For a melody switch,

With God’s help it’ll change before long.

I growled and spat, apologizing,

To my wife for over-generalizing…

Dumping language on her

That she did not prefer,

But she held her tongue instead of eulogizing!

NO PARKING SPACES!

NO PARKING SPACES!

Came home from work last night,

Something wasn’t right…

No resident spaces

Open, nor traces

Of any spaces in sight.

Whenever there’s a big storm,

Somebody makes my blood too warm…

I’ll gladly park

Anywhere near the ark,

If only I could, this morn!

Someone did it again,

A nonresident came in…

It’s really a pain

This happened again,

Don’t I have a right to come in?

NOT THE BEST PLACE!!!

NOT THE BEST PLACE

Adventure follows me

Around, don’t you see…

The car had a flat

On the highway that

Drove me up a tree!

Having gone to the mountains and back,

Without incident or impact…

The confidence gained

Was quickly drained

With the force of an iceberg crack.

A highway service truck came ’round,

Helping me to safer ground…

I changed to the spare

While he went elsewhere,

Only ten minutes late…I found!

NEWLY CONTRACTED

NEWLY CONTRACTED

The new contract’s been signed

And a new schedule made…

Don’t do it right

And receive a harsh upbraid;

Tension is running high

As we sort out the new routine…

Supervisor’s frustrated

Because he’s the go-between!
