“A-WEARING OF GREEN”

A-WEARING OF GREEN

March seventeenth–St. Patrick’s Day–

Everyone’s Irish in some way…

Funny hats, fake  beards,

Cultural mayhem every year.

A lot that is “Irish” isn’t at all,

Just made-up parts of the whole “falderal”…

The real stories in flannel-graph form

Don’t meet with favor with a partying drone.

So we dress up silly and eat corned beef,

Get gas from the cabbage and cry for relief…

We’re in fine fettle for a line dance or two

Finding out more things the Irish would do!

MY BRAINIAC FIX

MY BRAINIAC FIX

On You Tube, Brainiac,

Science Abuse, takes me back….

To science shows

Where something blows,

Instigated by pretend quacks.

Silliness–serious bent–

Educational money well-spent?…

Innuendos

Frequently flow,

Well-mixed with innocent intent.

Don’t know if over “here”*

They’d allow celebrities dear…

Electrically charged

Televised at large,

‘Cause some nut might do it, they fear!

Characters–various kinds–

Enliven the opening of minds…

Seeing science as

Some pretty cool jazz,

May be time to raise those blinds!

–Jonathan Caswell

NOTE: “Brainiac–Science Abuse”, is a science show out of the U.K., produced there and with episodes available on You Tube.
