NEAR THE END OF THE RUN!

The end is another beginning,

At least we end this one grinning…

My relief arrives

And I say “bye”,

Driving home to end the inning.

I guess he needed to roam,

Less beauty than there was, at home…

He’s older too

Abilities run through,

With less things working when done!

Beauty and conversation,

Not much of the latter this run…

No one got going

I wasn’t showing

Much need for conversation!

Met hew bloggers (to me),

I wonder who visits eventually?

Most will accept

Comments but not step (?)

Into this blog..if just to see.

Thanks to the regulars who tag along,

You are faithful companions–for how long?

When tired of me

Whole new worlds to see,

Each of us in our own ways, move along!

PRAYER FOR TARGETS

PRAYER FOR TARGETS

Sitting in the bathroom

Reading from God’s word…

The mind wanders to regret

Of past mistakes interred.

Times where one’s mind did slip

Into self-righteousness…

Not being careful where I was,

Stepping into what kind of mess !

Stories of pastors whose

Lives became fraught

By indiscretions,

Especially when caught.

And those few major media mates

Who wouldn’t knuckle under…

Found themselves pariahs,

Empires torn asunder.

Laughing stock of laughing-stock,

It still brings a shiver…

So-called giants of the Lord

Sent up the river!

Knowing what a target feels

In my own small way…

I urge all under the Lord,

To for leadership pray.

BUT WERE YOU CAUGHT???

BUT WERE YOU CAUGHT???

Hardly the best of remarking,

But…thinking back to your “sparking”…

Was your safe hideaway

Suddenly blown away,

And some caught you both larking?

Think back to when life was young

And tempting activities hung…

Between you two

Wanting to do,

What Valentine’s Day had begun.

Think of those times in the car

When one got “so far”…

Maybe more than one ought

And then was caught,

All steamed up, under the stars!

It seems a long time ago

Since we were inclined so…

To contort

In loving sport,

Romancing our love “no-show”.

IS ANYBODY LOOKING?!?

IS ANYBODY LOOKING?!?

I went for a left-over doughnut,

Left-over from Coffee Hour…

There were two plain

But Evelyn caught me with a glower.

“Aren’t you diabetic,” she said,

I admitted that I was…

“You’d better not have all that fat and bread

“So release that from your paws!”

Then she related her escapade

With mini-donuts left at her house…

Popping them in and then paid

By feeling out-of-sorts and a louse.

We look every direction to see if one sees

The cheating that we’d like to do…

Responsibility is ours to keep up,

While hoping we’re not caught by you!

Evelyn was right–didn’t mention to her—

That I’d already had a pastry…

For breakfast, no meds and no insulin,

Already…woe is me!!!! 😦
