ON AGING…THE SERIES?

ON AGING—THE SERIES?

He gets up at six or five,

A part of being alive…

He’ll achieve

The effort to breathe,

Before into bed again dive!

Watching Saturday westerns,

Roy Rodgers, black-and-white veterans…

The bad and good

Were understood,

Reality wasn’t mentioned.

To us kids it was a lark,

Playing cowboys in the park…

Older now

I realize how

Judgment and characters start.

Old Roy didn’t have street smarts

Unless they were hidden arts…

Few complications

In situations,

With singing before we.d part!

Up at the crack of dawn,

How long will this go on…

Til the hand finally slips

And loses its grips,

Then the one who grew up is gone!

MORE ON GETTING OLDER

MORE ON GETTING OLDER

(A man’s point of view0

Eye of the beholder,

While passionate grow colder…

Elder statesmen know!

Cane prerequisite

To stable ambulation…

Tipsy–just in act.

Chewing broccoli

Crisp, stir-fried, begs good dentures…

Resort to gumming!  🙂

It’s all in uyour head,

That is literally true…

Flesh is old, relaxed!

Holding hands with wife

Not always wanted but need,

“Hold on…companion!”

APPRECIATED

APPRECIATED

Morgan and Janet drew near

To say their poem was dear…

Appreciating

My participating

In memories Janet found dear.

Morgan is slowing down,

Of dog years she’s plied up a mound…

Moving slower

(We’re glad we know her)

Along familiar ground.

Janet shared memories

Of her dog, running with ease…

Of long ago

Letting me know

She appreciates poems like these.

COMPUTER’S GETTING TIRED

(GOOGLE IMAGE)

THE COMPUTER’S GETTING TIRED WHEN…!

At work, we all get on line,

To help to pass the time…

In addition to taking notes

About the daily grind.

At home, when we have paid our bill,

My wife plays lots of games…

To keep her hands and mind alert,

And working all the same.

When I come home early in th’AM,

I want to check my mail…

But if the computer’s been on all day

My checking is likely to fail.

Our older system at home must rest

Occasionally to work right….

The one at work has to work all day,

And works all through the night!

The home system is more like us,

It needs to occasionally sit…

Letting the rest of the world go by

While we slow down a bit.
