THE POOPER SCOOPER TROOPER

THE POOPER SCOOPER TROOPER!!!!

When goose parades swagger by,

The Trooper comes in view….

He has his trusty snow shovel

To scrape away the “poo”.

He works only daytime shift,

Which really is a blessing….

Because the geese go back home

By evening to do their messing.

Doesn’t matter as much on the grass

Or in the cloudy water…

But stepping into liquid goose poo

After dark is really a bother!

MODERN GROUNDS-KEEPING

MODERN GROUNDS-KEEPING

When I was working, the boss and I,

Spent all season’s labor sprucing up the “sty”…

Now-a-days with labor not exactly cheap,

Administration hires a crew

And does it in one heap!

They are doing things we never could get done,

Raking out the grass to encourage growing some…

Nicely craft the mulch and edge professionally,

Trimming ’round the hedges and bushes to a “T”!

THE BROKEN WING GANG

THE BROKEN WING GANG

This group is terrorizing

Our grounds these cold winter days…

They’re out to see what they can snatch,

To see if thievery pays.

The broken wing is Momma,

Who often winters alone…

But this year the kids and their Dad

She insisted would stay around home.

They’ve actually been pretty good of late

Until this sunny day…

Yes pretty good for a half-dozen geese

Who anoint the sidewalks with grey.

The broken wing gang has broken out,

Leaving webbed foot prints in the snow…

Not much green grass so this too will pass

‘Til later in the year, or so!
