TANKA OF BELONGING

TANKA OF BELONGING

Alan on crutches,

We both know putting feet up…

Feeling uselessness!

Keep feet higher than the heart

Buoyed by the nursing care!

–J.E.C.

Still being wanted

Working at this company

A nice tear-jerker!

Tears of joy and gratitude

And water over the dam!

–J.E.C.

One man on duty

(No women Security)

Able to watch grounds.

I cannot walk the patrol,

My cane is not optional!

–J.E.C.

Black olives are in…***

He hasn’t said anything,

Gotten away with-?

Not seeing his reaction

Misses the point of the joke.

–Jonathan Caswell

***SEE…the poem, “BLACK OLIVES IN…!”

CERTAIN SMILES

CERTAIN SMILES

Sitting at Security watching the folks go by

Ready to accept any smiles given on the fly,

When favorites known to me

Bless by their pleasantries,

Gratitude keeps my spirits high.

–Jonathan Caswell
