HALF-DRESSED TREE

We own a half-naked tree,

Mot many ornaments to see…

Our ornament box

Seems to be lost,

Not enough found to clothe our poor tree!

Set the alarm clock early,

Feeling rather squirrelly…

Keep waking up

Nervous and abrupt,

He’s feeling very surly.

Didn’t get to sleep

Till early morning to keep…

Time to rest

Went to bed half-dressed,

And now the clock seems to creep.

–

A long time of dreaming beckons,

Actual time: seconds…

Two minutes seem long,

Anxiety’s strongly

Influenced by time reckoned.

–

He manages waking before

The alarm…his feet hit the floor…

This troubled night

Will be all right

When tonight he can sleep some more.
