DREARY DAYS

DREARY DAYS

Birds flit among the mums

Totting up flower seed sums…

Chrysanthemums bright

Appear spots of light,

Where the last honey bee hums.

When dreary days are the norm

We look for any storm….

To clear the air,

And clear skies prepare–

Some sunlight would help us feel warm!

Overcast clouds and drizzle

Would anyones spirit fizzle…

But light from one’s heart

Rain clouds do part,

Thwarting the most evil missile.

AUTUMN PLANTING

AUTUMN PLANTING

Ornamental colored cabbage,

Not edible but nice adage…

To hardy mums

For tidy sums,

A nice kind of corporate baggage!

EXECUTIVE TIMETABLE

EXECUTIVE TIMETABLE

Hardy mums planted in rows,

A sign that everybody knows…

Executive fair

For colder air,

Changing of the seasons shows!

Prepare–autumn equinox–

Put summer clothes into that box…

When flowers won’t bloom

Landscapers make room

For ornamental cabbage in spots.

It’s hard to think or remember,

Canopy side walls go back on in November…

Assuming we’ll see

No blizzards early,

Not likely til after September!
