AUTUMNAL EQUINOX

As of ten o’clock this morning ’twas here,

Ending of summer for this year…

The picnics you knew

And the hotdogs chewed,

And friends bring memories’ cheer.

Remember when old and grey,

Bittersweet feelings today…

More coats–no bikinis–

Autumn weather, harvest gleanings–

Perhaps a good time by the bay?

Green turning brown,

Halloween candy’s around…

Colorful days

In cooling haze,

Thanksgiving…soon inbound!

BEHIND THE PLOW

BEHIND THE PLOW STILL!

With reverence I remember my time

On the missionary front line…

A “tentmaker”* now,

I’m happy to plow**

Till the Lord says it’s harvest time!

*The Apostle Paul supported himself by tentmaking (his trade) so that, among the Corinthians, he might offer the gospel to them at no cost.  See The Book of Acts 20: 34; and 1st Corinthians 9: 12.

**See Luke 9: 62.
