EASTER ISN’T LIKE CHRISTMAS

EASTER ISN’T LIKE CHRISTMAS

(A CHILD’S VIEW)

Easter isn’t Christmas,

The build-up’s not like this is…

Lenten sacrifice

Heralds Christ

After Good Friday’s awful business!

Joyful Easter morning:

A controlled sort of horning…

Death paid

For Christ laid

And risen beyond mourning!

New life means new dresses,

Boys told–stay out of messes…

Going to hear

At least once a year,

Exciting special messages.

Why then—we’ll eat,

Dinner and a treat…

Hard to say

Why adults don’t play

On a day that tastes so sweet!

TO WHOM I PRAY…by Carl A. Gooch

TO WHOM I PRAY

He showed His love for me,

He took my place upon the tree…

From sin I’ve been set free,

Christ paid Sin’s price for me!

What wondrous love was shown

When He called me to be His own,

I will kneel before His throne…

Knowing my life is not my own!

He is the promise of God from of old

That I proclaim loud and bold…

The grip of death couldn’t hold,

He arose from that tomb so cold!

No fear can hold me back today

For my Lord leads the way,

His loving promises light my…

He is my Savior, to whom I pray!
