A SAD FEATURE OF LIFE

She this her last day,

Just wanted to get away…

From open strife

Attacking her like..

Claimed she planned this anyway.

The woman who wouldn’t fit in,

Crossed the team (what a din!)…

The ring leader who

Treated her cruel,

Just wanted her to give in!

The showdown was match and “mate”,

Which the guard tried to mediate…

Stood in the middle

Getting her off the griddle,

Interpreted as a chorus of hate.

So she will go off to find

A job with more peace of mind…

He did what he could

The ending’s not good,

For what it’s worth…she did the time.

HER FINAL GOODBYE

Scuttlebutt said that this was her last day,

She didn’t want to have a great big fuss…

But well-wishers stopped by anyway

Til she in tears was about to bust.

–

She stayed after hours a long while cleaning up

And had the cleaner vacuum her office rug…

She finally came out heading for the door

And gave me a big bear hug.

–

Almost in tears “Myrt” toted her last load

Out to her car in the dark…

Never has so much to an HR person owed,

Her smiles were truly louder than her bark!
